Prelude~'Round Midnight~夜を巡る 1

回から「東京モーターショー」ではなく「ジャパンモビリティ―ショー」というのだそうだ。まぁ、時代の流れだな。
　思えば、クルマとか単車に興味を持ってから、「モーターショー」、どんなすげぇのが出てくるのか楽しみにしていたものだが、この何回か、展示物、何かしょぼいというか、実際入場者数も漸減しているそうで。特に世界の中でも特に日本経済は調子が悪く、世界中が注目する市場としては海を渡った中国に移ってしまい、何とも淋しい事なんだが。

　重い、SUV。しかもBEV。使い勝手とか何とか、確かに売れているのはSUVらしいが、夢を見せてくれると言えば、突き抜けていくような走りを予感させてくれる奴で、スポーツカーなんですよ、本筋は。重く大きなBEVなど、存在自体矛盾している。BEVの意義と重く大きいというところが、これが何とも。
　本気の本気で地球温暖化を止めようというなら、直ちに一切の文明を放棄しなくてはいけないレベルになってしまっているように思う。自動車どころか、ITや高度医療に至るまでだ。動力がガソリンだろうが電気だろうが、大きいクルマに乗る限り環境負荷は同じで、敢えて少しでもましなものにするというのならば、大きくとも日本の軽自動車規格とか、インドのメーカー、タタが作るような小さなものに小さなバッテリーを積んで、都市のごく限られた範囲のみを行き来する、屋根とタイヤが４つ着いた自転車、のつもりの使用用途に限定すれば、或いは効果があるのかもしれない。

　もうひとつ、最近のクルマとかバイクの現象としては「昔の名前で出ています」。ホンダの「プレリュード」。見るからにBEV。べつにいいんだ、それは。時代だし。

　５世代まであったんだよね、プレリュードって。まぁ、どんなクルマだったかなんて言うのは、能書き垂れたページはいっぱいある事だし省くが、一番好きだったのは、ちょっと他のとは毛色が違った４代目。BB1。1991年9月デビューとのことだから、バブル中期から後期のこと。アイルトン・セナ、当時のホンダ製品のいろんな車種のCMにでていたが、これにも出ていたんじゃなかったかな？　ちがうかな？
　まぁいいや。セナが出演していたCMよりも、「’round midnight」をBGMにつかったCMの方が印象的だった。
　いろいろ勘違いしていて、ずっとチェット・ベーカーのボーカルとばかり思っていた。しかし、少なくともネットで探したところで、チェット・ベーカーのトランペットによる「’round midnight」はあっても、ボーカルのそれはないようである。「My funny valentine」あたりと勘違いしたんだろうか？

　件のCMで使われていたのは、サニー・ウィルキンソンによるボーカルのもの。寧ろ、オレが記憶していたもので言えば、スティングによるものがイメージに近かった。

　ボーカル無しマイルス・デイヴィスのトランペットのものを高校生の時に聴いたのが最初だった。割とダウナーな曲想がオレ的にはしっくりくるタイミングというのが確実にあって。今聴くと、サニー・ウィルキンソンのものは、まぁまぁよし、という感じ。悪くはない。ただちょっと甘ったるいかな、という感じはする。

The very existence of heavy and large BEVs is contradictory. The significance of BEV and how heavy and large it is is indescribable.
If we really want to stop global warming, I think we've reached a point where we have to immediately abandon all civilization. This applies not only to automobiles but also to IT and advanced medical care. Whether the power is gasoline or electricity, as long as you drive a large car, the environmental impact is the same.If you want to make it even a little better, at most the Japanese light car standards and the Indian manufacturer Tata. It might be effective if you put a small battery in a small thing you make and limit its use to the intended use, such as a bicycle with a roof and four tires that can be used only in a very limited area of the city. unknown.

Another recent phenomenon with cars and motorcycles is that they are appearing under their old names. Honda's "Prelude". It looks like a BEV. That's totally fine. It's the era.

There were up to five generations, Prelude. Well, I won't say what kind of car it was because there are so many pages of blurb. The one I liked the most was the fourth generation, whose coat color was a little different from the others. BB1. It is said that it debuted in September 1991, so it is from the middle to late bubble period. Ayrton Senna appeared in commercials for various Honda products at the time, but I wonder if he appeared in this one as well? Is it different?
Well, that's fine. The commercial that used “’round midnight” as background music was more impressive than the commercial that Senna appeared in.
I had a lot of misunderstandings and always thought it was Chet Baker's vocals. However, at least when I searched online, it seems that there is Chet Baker's trumpet version of ``'round midnight,'' but no vocal version. Did I mistake it for something like "My funny valentine"?

The commercial in question featured vocals by Sunny Wilkinson. In fact, from what I remember, the one by Sting was closer to what I imagined.

I first heard Miles Davis' trumpet version without vocals when I was in high school. There was definitely a timing where the idea of a relatively downer song felt right to me. When I listen to it now, I feel like Sonny Wilkinson's stuff is just okay. Not bad. I just feel like it's a little too sweet.
