尋ねるということ ／ ジュディ・スカッチ

今日ご紹介する翻訳は、数年前に旧ブログ「ひかりのはな」で紹介したものです（元記事はこちら ）。

今日のオンラインクラスでこのエピソードをシェアしたので、読みやすいnoteに転載しておこうと思ったのですが、ほかにも必要とされてる方に広く届くと嬉しいです。

内なる平和財団の「Let's Discuss ACIM（コースについて語り合いましょう）」というウェビナーがYouTubeで公開されているのですが、「What I learned from the scribes（私がヘレンとビルから学んだこと）」という回において、ジュディ・スカッチが、視聴者からこんな質問を受けます。

「あなたの組織はいまから10年後に、どのようになっていると思いますか？
自分たち以外のほかの奇跡講座の組織と、もっと親しく連携していくことになると思いますか？」

そして、以下はジュディの回答です。

ジュディがかつて、イエスに5年後までの計画を求めたとき、受け取った答えが胸を打ちます。

this reminds me of a man of a large organization once came to visit us.

あるとき、とある大きな団体の方が、私たちの財団を訪れたときのことを思い出したわ。

and he also publishes a book that is quite well known in the spiritual realm.

彼はまた、精神世界で著名な本を出版している人でもあるのだけど、

and he said "I see a course of miracles wherever I look, and we've been around much longer than you."
and I said and he said "well, we want to
learn how to publicize our document."

彼が言うには、
「 奇跡講座は本当によく拡がっていますね。
私たちの本のほうがずっと前から出版されているのに！
どのようにして書籍を宣伝したらいいのか、ぜひ、教わりたいものです。」

and I said "well, what can we tell you?"
he said "can you tell me your publication plan?"

「何をお話ししたらいいのかしら」
と私が言うと、彼は、
「あなた方の出版方針を教えていただきたい」

and I said "when the books are needed and we publish them."

そこで私が、
「本が必要とされてるときに、出版するというだけです」
と答えると、彼は、

"well, can you tell me a distribution plan?"
I said "we have no plan. people who need it could have bookstores or they write us."

「それじゃ、頒布方針をお聞かせください」
「 方針など何もありません。
本が欲しいと思う人たちは本屋で買うか、そうでなければ私たちのところに連絡してきます」

he "so what about business plan?  can you give me your business plan? my board of directors would love to have a business plan if you'd be generous enough to share it with us."

「では事業計画はどうです。
教えていただけませんか。もしあなた方の事業計画を寛大にもシェアしていただけるなら、うちの理事会が喜ぶと思うんですが」

and I said "sure. "
he said "oh great, will you go andget it?"

「もちろん」と私が答えると、彼が言うんです。
「すばらしい！　では、いま持ってきていただけますか」

I said "I can't get it, we don't have any."

それで私が「それは無理です、何もないんですから」と言ったら、

"how could you run an organization and not have a business plan?"

「事業計画もなしに、どうやって組織を運営してるっていうんです！？」って言われたわ。

and I said "when we were first given this material interest, I asked the same question as you did. I wanted a five-year plan for the foundation for inner peace."

私は、「私たちが最初にこれを始めたとき、私もあなたと同じことを尋ねましたよ」と答えました。
私は、『 内なる平和財団』のために、５年先までの計画を欲しがったのです。

and the voice through Helen said kindly, "you do not need a five-year plan. don't you know that I will be with you every second along the way."

すると、ヘレンを通して【声】がやさしく言ったことには、
「あなたには、５年計画など必要ないのですよ。この道を行く上で、私が毎瞬毎瞬、あなたと共にいるのだということが、わからないのですか？」

"I will tell you what to do when it's needed, and you will follow it and we will be glad together."

「あなたが何をすべきかは、それが必要なそのときに、私が教えましょう。
あなたはただそれに従い、私たちは共に喜ぶことになるのです」

"I will tell you what you need at any given time and I will provide everything that you need."

「そのとき何が必要なのかは、そのときどきで教えてあげましょう。
そして、あなたが必要とするすべては、私が用意しましょう」

how in the world can I say with a foundation gonna be it's gonna be 10 years from now, I didn't even think we'd be here today!

いったいどうして私に、10年先に財団がどうなっているかなんて言えるかしら。
今日（こんにち）まで続いているとさえ思わなかったのに！（笑）

so we have no idea, and it's just not given us to think that way.

ですから、そんなことは私たちにはわからないのだし、そんなふうに考えるようにと託されたものではないのです。

and we're very comfortable just asking the Holy Spirit for everything, even in a daily meeting.

私たちは、どんなこともすべて聖霊に尋ねるだけで、とても気楽にしているのよ。
毎日の会議においてさえも、です。

whether it's an altercation between two people who are working together, who at that moment are having friction,
or whether it's funding, or whether it's do we publish large size type,

それが、いま衝突中の二人の同僚が交わしている口論のことであれ、
資金のことであれ、
大判の本を出版するべきか、とか

or do we just name, just name the idea.
we don't know, we ask.

またはただ意見を上げるべきか、ということであれ……
私たちは知らないのだから、尋ねるのです。

and when we get a sense that something else is needed or desired of us, then we ask what that is and we're told how.

そして私たちが、何か別のものを求められてる、と感じるときは、
それは何かを尋ね、どうするかを教えてもらいます。

a case in point is today's webinar.
a few months ago, we didn't even think of having webinars.

今日のこのウェブ・セミナーもその一例です。
数ヶ月前には、私たちはウェブ・セミナーを開こうなどとは考えてもいませんでした。

and then it came in some very interesting context, three or four times, through different people that this is the time to do this.

それが、とても面白いなりゆきで、３～４回、別々の人たちを通して「ウェブ・セミナーを開くべきときだ」と言われたのです。

and then we all ask together and we absolutely heard "yes!!"

そこで、私たち全員で一緒に尋ねたのだけど、答えははっきり、「イエス！」だったのです。

I had a feeling that the answer was "thought you'd never ask."
I'm not saying it was.

私は、
「もう尋ねてくれないかと思ったよ」
と言われるのではないかと感じていたのだけど、そうではなかったわ。

that's the way we operate we can't operate any other way.
because we do not know what anything is for.

これが、私たちのやり方です。
私たちには他の方法でやっていくことなど、できないのです。
なぜって私たち、何であれ、それが何のためのものなのか、まったくわかっていないのですもの。

and the rules of the world in time, and how one acts and how one performs, and how one runs an organization, one's own life.

この世界がどんなところかってことも、
誰がどんなふうに行動するかも、
組織をどのように運営するのかも、
どのように人生の決断を下すのかも、
私たちは何もわかってないのですから、

it's all the same thing that comes back to asking asking asking asking.

どんなこともすべて、ただ聖霊に尋ねて、尋ねて、尋ねる、というところに戻ってくるのです。

that's what the course teaches.
that's what we follow.

それが、奇跡講座が教えていることですし、
それが、私たちのするべきことなのです。
