東京にいる古い友人が突然の連絡があって、それは本当にびっくりした出来事だったのだが、それから約１年が過ぎた。広島に帰ってきているとのことだった。
What makes us extremely guilty is regarding someone’s  death as a trifle, and this lesson absolutely exists in my brain and mind.
About a year has passed since an old friend of mine in Tokyo contacted me suddenly, and his calling brought me to the community center nearby in a short while.
He had returned to our neighborhood without letting me know his urgent affairs.

夕方だったのだが、すぐに彼の実家の近くまで行って、長居できるマクドナルドで話をすることにした。彼の弟の葬式があると言う。前日に自ら自死したらしい。
We went to the first food shop by car so that we could stay for a certain while, and we had a long conversation to share his details, which revealed that his brother had been engaged in the major corporation or holding firm for about three decades.
And he killed himself at home the previous day.

原因は30年くらい勤めていた会社の仕事が嫌でも、ずっと我慢していたとのこと。中途退社するのは選択肢になかったのか。奥さんと娘はどうなるのか。
He had worked for the company reluctantly for a long time, but he continued to do his jobs patiently, which maybe had made his mind filled with discontentments or uncomfortableness, which people around him failed to be aware of, and he had had no decision to leave his workplace earlier than his retirement age.
His brother left their family and this world, which is likely to make us unfamiliar to his mysterious death.

これは本当に驚愕だったのだが、彼は午前中に歯科医に通って、インプラントの予約までしていた。明るいとは言わないが、幸せな未来につながるはずのもの。
This fact made those involved including us extremely astonished : he had made an appointment at the dentist so that he would take an implant treatment in the near future.
Such a schedule usually makes a patient pleasant or comfortable while we cannot consider it as a bright future, the fact of which is mysterious.

友人も不謹慎なのだが、そんなに悲しそうでもなかった。持ち家が事故物件になったら、資産価値が下がるのかなとかついつい質問までしてくる有り様だ。
In fact, my friend didn’t look ashamed or disappointed, which made me insecure without something reasonable.
Instead, he was worried whether his brother’s house might lose its value as a land estate or not because the owner committed suicide at home, which is called “an accident property.”

一体何がそうさせたのだろうか。自死までしてこの世から消えたかったのか。55歳だと定年退職まで数年だ。重荷を肩から降ろしたくなるのは、目標がないからなのか。
What made him kill himself would be mystery forever.
Various questions arise : he should have possessed an alternative means excluding a catastrophic one.
There were only five years left until his age would arrive at the retirement one, so that he could leave his disgusting company with his retirement bonus.
He might not have gained what makes him excited or entertained, otherwise he could address something burdensome or troublesome.

This reason makes the question titled above favorable.
