大学受検「入学してから勉強しなかった話」

入試が終わって大学生になった時に学習意欲はなかった。１年間の受検生活は疲れた。合格することが究極の目的で４年間の勉強を社会人になって活かすなどの人生設計は全くなかった。
As soon as he gained a reception letter from his desired university, his enthusiasm and aggressiveness to study something ran away to somewhere because one-year-examinee season had completely exhausted him in both mental and physical viewpoints, he remembers.
The ultimate target of this year was to pass the national university nearby, he had no schedule to gain knowledge and information useful in his near future while he was a university student for four years, he remembers.
He wanted to be involved in something decadent.

国立大学を目指していたので文系ではあったが数学も理科も勉強した。興味がなく苦手意識もあって実りはなかった。逆も同じだ。英語と日本史は好きだったので急激に伸びていった。
He belonged to the humanities course, but he was forced to study subjects in STEM like math and biology because he had to take eight subjects in the entrance exams.
He had no interest in STEM subjects, at the same time, he had an aversion to them, which prevented him from gaining satisfactory grades about the science subjects.
And vice versa, his favorite subjects like English and history enabled him to gain reasonable marks, he says.

ある北欧の国の教育に言及している記事があった。日本と比べると無駄がない。得意科目を伸ばすイメージだ。日本の教育は個人の能力を引き出さない。納税者を確保するものなのだ。
He happened to encounter an article about Finland, where system of education is completely different from that of our nation, which has made him find Japan’s education filled with something wasteful, to his sorrow.
In contrast, Finnish educational system has an image that numerous educators could enhance children’s superior advantages as compared with Japanese education where individuals’ personalities have a destiny to be buried underground, to our regret, he says.
Japan’s Ministry of Education has the right purpose to increase the number of obedient taxpayers, he says.
