祭神：若比咩神（わかひめのかみ）は阿蘇五の宮惟人命（これひとのみこと）の妃で天の女
乙姫＝龍宮に住む美しい姫

言い伝え：その昔、地域で子供の疱瘡が流行し、多くの子供達が亡くなりました。そこへ、美しいお姫様が現れて、わたくしが子供達を守ってあげましょうと言われ姿を消されました。すると不思議なことに、その後は当地域で疫病が流行しなくなったと言い伝えられている。

Legend: A long time ago, a childhood epidemic spread to many children and many children died. A beautiful princess appeared there, and I was told to protect the children and disappeared. Then, strangely, it is said that the epidemics have ceased to spread in the area thereafter.

乙姫子安河原観音/Otohimeko Yasugawara Kannon

ご神体：乙姫川の河原に横たわる自然石。女性が仰向けに寝たような形をしており、子供のほしい人が河原の石を持ち帰り、股にはさむと子供を授かるといわれています。また、それが河原にある赤い石だと女の子、黒い石だと男の子に恵まれるそうです。

God body: A natural stone lying on the riverbank of the Otohime River. It is said that a woman lays on her back, and a person who wants a child brings back the stones of Kawara and pinches her crotch to give her a child. In addition, it is said that the red stones in Kawara are favored by girls and the black stones by boys.

年に一度、５月８日には祈願祭が行われます。
