[地球一周35〜36日目]houston space center

アメリカでまたまた面白いのは、テレビで放送される映画の豊富さ。この前アカデミー賞をとった「ドリームプラン」も放送されていました。タイタニックは何とコマーシャルを入れて2回連続、計8時間。同じ映画を連続とはさすがです。そしてヒューストンは雨がよく降るのに水はけが悪い・・・笑。道路は対向車線をいれて計12車線の規模です。

ヒューストンといえばスペースセンターということで、行ってきました。宇宙飛行士の訓練やミッションコントロールセンター（NASAやスペースXなど）の役割を担う場所。古い建物が多く、何となく大学構内に雰囲気が似ていた。
宇宙飛行士が使うトイレであったり、実際の宇宙服を見たり、訓練で使っていた機材の中を見れたりしました。シャトルの中は何万本ものコードが張り巡らされているんですね・・・。
リアルタイムで、NASAのスタッフ達が働いているミッションコントロールセンターを見れたのは感慨深いものがありました。
宇宙飛行士訓練のプールは圧巻。水量は6.2ミリオンガロン（約2300万リットル）、深さは40フィート（約12メートル）。

隕石や月の石に触れるのもアメリカらしいなと、隕石はザラザラしてて、月の石はツルツルでした。その日は宇宙飛行士とのビンゴゲームができる日でした。また、VRで宇宙外訓練の体験をして、360度の宇宙と地球を感じられました。
イベントのようにアメリカは宇宙との距離が近いなぁと感じ、私は地球が大好きで宇宙から地球を見てみたいのだなと気付きました。

P.S. アメリカは本当に国旗を見る機会が多い。ディズニーやユニバーサルスタジオの中にまで、アメリカの大統領や独立の歴史を伝えるシアターがあるのに驚きます。

地球から　宇宙を見つめ　たくましく

Another interesting thing about America is the abundance of movies broadcast on television. “king richard” , which won an Academy Award last time, was also broadcast. The Titanic ran twice in a row, including commercials, for a total of eight hours. It is true that the same movie is continuous. And even though it rains a lot in Houston, the drainage is bad...lol. The road has a total of 12 lanes including oncoming lanes. Speaking of Houston, I went to the space center. A place that serves as an astronaut training and mission control center (such as NASA or SpaceX). There were many old buildings, and somehow the atmosphere was similar to that of a university campus. We saw the toilets used by astronauts, saw actual spacesuits, and saw inside the equipment used in training. There are tens of thousands of cords running through the shuttle...

It was very moving to see the mission control center where NASA staff are working in real time. The astronaut training pool is a masterpiece. It holds 6.2 million gallons (about 23 million liters) of water and is 40 feet (about 12 meters) deep. Touching meteorites and moon rocks is typical of America, and the meteorites were rough and the moon rocks were slippery. That day was the day we could play a bingo game with the astronauts. I was made to feel again that the distance to the universe is close like an event.

Also, I was able to feel the 360-degree view of space and the earth through the experience of out-of-space training in VR. Like the event, I felt that the United States is close to space, and I realized that I love the earth and would like to see it from space.

P.S. America really has a lot of opportunities to see the national flag. I'm surprised that even Disney and Universal Studios have theaters that tell the history of American presidents and independence.
