“Dance of the Ants” Yoshiyuki Yatsuhashi Plays ANTONIO LOPEZ Loto-15

Today’s full moon is the Pink Moon. It would be a lie to say I wasn’t influenced by Nick Drake. “Dance of the Ants,” from my solo album. I played the Antonio Lopez, a classical guitar made by artisans in Spain, where they originated. With folk-style three-finger picking, the melody shifts from E Dorian mode to E Ionian. Entirely composed of whole tones, the song changes keys like sliding land.
It’s almost been a year since I launched this fixed-point observation video series. Sometimes it could be right or could be wrong. Try and try and try to find that route.

Dance of the Ants

Climb up the bark of the big tree
You’ll see new leaves on a thin twig
Climb up that rugged surface
You’ll see vermin eating other leaves

Find the route
Where you don’t lose yourself
Sometimes it could be right or could be wrong

Step by step
Step by step
Don’t take your eyes off the lane

You’ll find a brood happily chirping
Or you’ll find a mother bird crying for lost chicks

Find the route
Where you don’t lose yourself
Sometimes it could be right or could be wrong

Step by step
Step by step
Don’t take your eyes off the lane

Try and try and try to find that route
Try and try and try to find that route
Try and try and try to find that route
Try and try and try to find that route
