Essay-5 Should investment technology be a bigger priority for government?

The development of technology has brought huge transformation in our lives and governments have been considering whether or not they need to invest their budget to encourage advancing it. I believe that such an investment in new technology will give significant benefit not only to our lives but also to the environment.

To begin with, emphasizing investment in technology means companies and researchers could get their budget easily and it leads to accelerating innovations. Nowadays, it is argued that environmental problems, such as climate change, emission of carbon dioxide, and water shortage, so my stance is that it is more efficient way than eliminating the usage of energy and resources.

Another cogent reason is that technological development such as the automation of tasks will change our working style more safely and efficiently. For instance, the current Japanese demographic trend is that the number of elderly people is increasing, therefore it is inevitable that shortage of workforce, and the government must tackle the issue urgently. Encouragement of innovation is one of the breakthroughs that are such a serious problem. Furthermore, such automation technology enables us to release from dangerous jobs, so consequently, that can be realized comfortable workplace for everyone.

Another factor to consider is that domestic innovation has a strong connection with the power of the nation. Even in developed countries, the continuous of launching new technology are essential for keeping their position and the investment can show their afford as a nation. If there is no attention, the nation will decline. Moreover, most skilled people may have gone to other countries to seek a more suitable environment.

Overall, for the above-mentioned three reasons, I strongly agree that the government should investment domestic technology. (284 words)
