4th Day (Sat, Nov 24th)

I got a big raw sea urchin for lunch in Little Italy Town.
If you are interested you google “raw sea urchin san diego” and you'll see what I mean.
The sea urchin was so densely packed with sea flavor that it made me want to drink sake.

(4) Crossing the border to Mexico on foot.
The 4th objective is crossing to walk to Tijuana in Mexico from the southernmost of San Diego and eating Caesar Salad.
I’ve heard that Caesar Salad spread from Tijuana to the rest of the world.
I imagined it is from Italia but it is from Central America.
On a side note, did you know that both potatoes and tomatoes spread from Mexico to around the world.

On the San Diego side of the border, there is large outlet mall. You can enjoy shopping as usual, but I felt the Mexican atmosphere in the vicinity.
I was nervous and headed to the border.

Let me get to the point first.
I couldn’t cross the border. I mean I decided rather, I had to cancel the crossing of my own volition.

The Japanese man who crossed the border from Mexico by walking right now said me, “If you cross the border to Mexico, you can’t go back to US by before the end of the day. So I don’t recommend that you go to Mexico for sightseeing absolutely. “.
In fact, at the time 2018, there is a large number of refugee they were called “Caravans” from Central America countries were forming long long line at immigration gate to enter the US in Tijuana, and the news which security was worse than normal was reported in Japanese TV, I thought I knew at least what on the news.

But I was hearing from the man who had stood in line for more than 10 hours, I realized that I had been naive.
I had no intention of spending the night in Mexico, I had a plan that I’m going to Griffith Observatory in LA.
That’s a shame to give up with in front of the border, but actually I enjoyed some shopping for myself at the outlet mall, so I returned to LA satisfied.

San Diego has beautiful sea and is very good town. I’d like to spend a day without sightseeing but I'm staying at a dormitory with the guests and I will chill on the beach next time.

It was fun on the way back to LA, I tried Dunkin' for the first time and almost entered the US military base by accident.

I arrived at the Griffith Observatory at night as planned, and after falling asleep at the popular planetarium show, we returned to the same dormitory where we stayed on the first day.
This postcard which was taken a picture is a letter to the Griffith Observatory from universe. I like this postcard the best in exhibition at the Griffith Observatory.
That night, I was energetic after sleeping at the planetarium that I was playing a card called “Ring Of Fire” with 6 other guests from same dormitory until midnight. It is a drinking game. You can google it. I enjoyed that and recommend the game.
