Hello everyone! This is SHARI from the Community Team 🍚. We’re already halfway through the year…! June has arrived 🙌. June means the rainy season. I’m not a fan of the rain, but I love the hydrangea flowers that bloom during this time ✨. The beautiful colors of the flowers, like blue and reddish-purple, change depending on the soil of the area! Hydrangeas are loved not only in Japan but also abroad, and their English name is "Hydrangea." Amazingly, it means "water vessel"...! Seeing the hydrangeas gently catching the raindrops in the pouring rain is truly a water vessel. It’s so romantic, isn’t it?

Now, to everyone who blooms beautifully in various colors and lifts our spirits like hydrangeas, we bring you the latest changes in REALITY this month. Let's dive into the May edition of the REALITY Newsletter!


REALITY Avatar 2.0 is finally here!

New items and customization to improve your ability to be "whoever you want to be!"

■More customization to body types!

In addition to the existing height adjustments, you can now adjust shoulder width, body width, and the length of arms and legs, allowing you to create an avatar that suits your preferences even more.

■ Significant adds to the face customization!

New categories such as "nose," "jawline," and "depth" have been added, making avatar expressions richer and more customizable! Additionally, you can now fine-tune the positions of features like the eyes and eyebrows.

■Numerous free items added!

A variety of new facial items such as hairstyles, eyebrows, and beards have been added to your avatar!

■New items available in the shop!

Stylish hairstyles, eyeshadows, and cheek makeup items have arrived in the shop! Plus, a 50% off sale on new items is currently underway!

The Community Team also created avatars using Avatar 2.0 and shop items!

■Release Commemoration Daily Gacha Campaign!!

Metaverse! (Greetings) I'm DJ RIO, REALITY's CEO. 🦊

In May, we finally released Avatar 2.0! Over the past few years, we've seen REALITY being used by people all over the world, and at the same time, we've received many voices saying, "I want to create an avatar that's more like me." REALITY avatars are built on a very complex system, and moreover, it's a system that has been evolving for over five years with thousands and tens of thousands of items continuously added. Revising this from the ground up to make it even more expressive was an incredibly challenging project, but I believe that everyone on the development team has done a wonderful job, investing a lot of time and effort into it.

We will continue to evolve REALITY into a place where you can truly become "whoever you want to be." Look forward to it!

Hello, I'm Unknown, the Product Manager.

REALITY Avatar 2.0 has finally been released! I've been involved in this project for a long time as the PM, and I'm relieved that we were able to deliver it to everyone successfully. It's a good opportunity, so today I'd like to talk a little about the background of this project.

First of all, REALITY is a global service available in 63 countries. Up until now, REALITY has been in a state where "it's not quite satisfying for people overseas," and voices requesting changes like wanting to change their nose, expand their body shape, or add more hairstyles were coming in almost every month. We listened carefully to these needs and aimed to update the service to make it more usable by more people.

On the other hand, opportunities to update the avatar system in operation are not so common. It affects many people and there are also various constraints and challenges due to the difficulty of structural expansion. However, we have been developing with the aim of making it possible to use the existing features as much as possible without changing the impression too much. While there are currently various issues, we don't intend for these to distance people from becoming the person they want to be. We will promptly address any fixes and continue to ensure that you can enjoy Avatar 2.0!

While REALITY Avatar 2.0 is an update with a global perspective, we've also included features and elements that can be enjoyed by everyone in Japan. Find your favorite parts and update to become the person you want to be!

Hello there! I'm IKURA, the Community Manager. It's been getting quite hot lately, hasn't it? I remember writing about this last year, but surprisingly, I like summer and dislike winter. I often get pointed out by acquaintances and colleagues for "not matching the stereotype," but I really love the sea and the blue sky!

Anyway, I've actually been working on preparing for offline events since a couple of months ago. This year, we're planning to have the largest amount of content ever, and it will be something that can be enjoyed online as well. So, it's been the busiest time ever and I'm really feeling the pressure.
