Quickly rushes forward. 50% chance if the player is within a certain distance,
The horizontal attack of the sword will miss.

In addition to appearing from the ground, it may also appear from the air (off-screen) while jumping at a 45° angle (another set condition). *In such cases, after landing on the ground, they run off-screen in the same direction.

The player takes damage just by touching it (the ninja dog passes through the player and disappears off-screen).
*See Black Panther, a mook from the original Castlevania.

Behaviour

The Ninja Dog has two types of attack: a rush attack, in which it runs in a straight line across the floor, and a jump attack, in which it jumps at you when it is within a certain distance of your ship. Furthermore, the Ninja Dog is a relentless enemy that will turn around even after you have passed it, change direction and lunge at you again.

On the ground, they can only be hit by horizontal attacks (preferably crouching attacks, but the picture doesn't look convincing), while jump attacks cannot be hit by horizontal attacks.

Action

The Ninja Dog's jump attack monitors the position of your ship from the apex and adjusts its jump trajectory. Even if you get inside the arc of its trajectory and miss the attack, the Ninja Dog will soon turn around and head towards you again, so you cannot let your guard down.

The Ninja Dog also has one of the highest movement speeds of all zakos, setting it up as a very difficult enemy to fight in some situations, despite its low durability. It first appears in the latter half of the first stage, and appears in all stages thereafter.

Waiting state and death

Most Ninja Dogs appear from off-screen, but there are rare ones waiting on the floor. This is like the Black Panther in the first Castlevania game, which suddenly rushes towards you when it reaches a certain distance from your ship, but in the case of the Ninja Dogs, they are a little worse: as shown in the blue area above, they will start rushing at you "somewhere" when the distance between you and them is reduced to a certain distance.

Because there is a 'fluctuation' in the distance to the target, you can take damage if you are not careful. Note that once a Ninja Dog has performed an attacking action (running or jumping attack), it will not return to the standby state.

Parameters

I would like to be able to adjust the following elements externally (Unity inspector?).

Nin-Ken movement speed
Durability of the Nin-Ken.
The distance and fluctuation from standby to rush.
How far away from the Nin-Ken it turns around.
