こんにちは　ぱこです。この英語回は、普段英語で話す機会が全くなく、英語の発音やリスニングに苦手意識をもつ私が、発音トレーナーまやさんのVoicyを教材に、英語を学習、アウトプットすることで、英語力向上のプロセスをお見せするというコンセプトで配信しています。

Today I wanna look back on my dictation of maya’s talik on 12thDec.

１２月１２日まやさんの放送、５分で英語リスニングクイズ！のディクテーションをして、気付いた点の振り返りをしていきます。
最初に全文英語で読んだあと、聞き取りや英語表現について、日本語と英語で振り返りをしていきます。
それではスタートです。

１．ディクテーションと正解の比較

As I said, it is my birthday today,
Today We are having a party at my favorite restaurant.
My children, my husband, my parents, my brother, his wife and my nephew are all coming.
I have never had a party that way on my birthday, you know why?
Because this time it’s not just my birthday party. It’s also my nephews.
He is called M kun and his birthday is two days ago. He is now 1 year old.
It is the first birthday and everyone is excited about it.
Normally my parents wouldn’t celebrate my birthday like this, but thanks to M kun I’ll be 
celebrated by a lot of people this year.

２．振り返り
（１）ディクテーション前（２回リスニング）の理解程度
He is called M kun and his birthday is two days ago. He is now 1 year old.
It is the first birthday and everyone is excited about it.

　太字の部分が聞き取れなかったので、M君の誕生日がまやさんより２日前なのか後なのかが分かりませんでした。
また、M君が１歳の誕生日だということを聞き逃したので、なぜ今回初めて合同の誕生日会をしたのかが分からず、全体の理解ができませんでした。
ディクテーションで繰り返し聞いて、やっと全体像が分かりました。
１、２文聞き取れないだけで、全体像が分からなくなるので、私のリスニング力では、聞き流しでは理解できないな～と感じました。

（２）ディクテーション後に気付いた点
①細かい部分の聞き取り
We are having a party at one of my favorite restaurants.
「one of」は注意して聞き直しても、早すぎてよく聞き取れませんでした。
そこが聞けなくても意味は通じますが、こういう感じで聞き取れない部分が結構あるんですよね。
②知らない表現
I’ve never had a party this big on my birthday.
「this big」という表現を知らず、聞き取れませんでした。
「こんな大きなパーティーをする誕生日を過ごしたことがなかった」という表現、
「such a big」でなく、「this big」と言えるのだ、と勉強になりました。

③時勢の表現
Normally my parents wouldn’t celebrate my birthday like this, but thanks to M kun I’ll be 
celebrated by a lot of people this year.
「普段両親は私の誕生日をこんな風に祝うことはないのだけれど」という表現でwouldを使っています。誕生日会はこれからの未来のことで、未来の仮定形なのでwouldを使っているのですね。
最初の「Today We are having a party at one of my favorite restaurants.」で、今誕生日会をしている所なのかと思っていたら、最後のまやさんの訳では、「今日は好きなお店でパーティーをします」でした。ここが分かっていたら、「これから誕生日会を行う」という最後の表現で混乱しなかったと思います。
「are~ing」は、中学英語で現在進行形と習った記憶で固定されていましたが、これからの未来表現に使われるのですね。調べてみたら、現在進行形は、動作の継続の他にも７つも意味合いがあって、その一つに「未来の予定」がありました。
未来表現は「will」「is going to ～」しか頭になかったので、まやさんの表現のように、自然に「is～ing」で未来表現をしていきたいと思いました。

３．最後に
まやさんの今回の放送回、皆さんは聞き取れたでしょうか？
全文答え付の英文を、最初はリスニングのみ、次にディクテーションで、どこまで理解できたかをチェックするのは、リスニング力、表現力向上に良い学習法だと思います。
