ときに息苦しくなるほどに傷ついてる

Is anybody out there? と歌っているほうは、You are not alone. という声が届いていません。しかしそれでも誰かが、傷つき苦しみ心折れた私たちに寄り添っている、そんな曲でしょうか。

現実の、目に見える、手の届く範囲の誰もが余裕なく苦しんでいてもout thereの誰かが心だけでも支えてくれているのかもしれない、このささやかな祈りのような歌が個人的にとても好きです。

余談として、訳の話ですが、"breathe"は日本語での息をするというニュアンスよりさらに生命に結びつくイメージがあり、「息苦しい」よりもなお苦しい「泥に足を取られながらもがき歩く」くらいの印象があります。
