週末旅・越後＆庄内廻り　a weekend wanderer - Echigo and Shonai area (Niigata and Yamagata prefectures)

Day 1

まずは越後湯沢へ。1日目の目的地は『大地の芸術祭』。
Heading to Echigo-Yuzawa station. The destination is “Echigo-Tsumari Art Field”.

越後湯沢または十日町にて宿泊
accommodate in Echigo-Yuzawa or Tokamachi

Day 2

列車の中で、アートを楽しむ一日。まずは、越後湯沢から現美新幹線に乗って新潟へ。
Enjoy the day with fine arts on trains. First, take Genbi Shinkansen train (high speed Shinkansen train decorated with modern arts) to Niigata station.

新潟で、海里に乗り換え。日本海の景色と美食を楽しみながら、鶴岡または酒田へ。
Change trains at Niigata station. Take Kairi train, and enjoy the art of scenery and gourmet of the sea of Japan in the train journey to Tsuruoka or Sakata.

Day 3

庄内地方を楽しむ。
Enjoy the Shonai area.

庄内空港から、もしくは山形新幹線で帰路へ。
Return to your home from Shonai airport or by Yamagaya Shinkansen.

もし日程に余裕があるのであれば、新潟市内で一泊するのもおすすめ。新鮮な海の幸を回転寿司でも楽しめる。
If you can extend you plan, it would be interesting to stay a night in Niigaya city. You can find fresh sea foods at Sushi restaurants with reasonable price.
