【Podcast】英語でアニメ・マンガ紹介vol.1「ヴァイオレット・エヴァーガーデン」

英語の勉強を始めました。そして、好きなものを英語で語って発信すれば楽しく英語も学べると考えたため、好きなアニメとマンガを英語で紹介するPodcastを始めてみました。

といっても、頑張り過ぎず、ゆるく、自分なりのペースで更新していければと思います。

I am a Japanese anime freak and I’m studying in English currently.

I want to improve my English, so I started this podcast where I introduce my favorite Japanese anime in English.

私は日本のアニメ好きで、現在英語を勉強中です。

もっと英語を上達したいと思い、好きな日本のアニメを英語で紹介するPodcastを始めてみました。ぜひリラックスしてお聞きください。

This time I am introducing my favorite anime is “Violet Evergarden”.

This anime was made by the Kyoto animation.

Kyoto animation  is an anime production located in Kyoto.

Kyoto animation is famous for its beautiful animation paintings.

“Violet Evergarden” is the one of those beautiful animations.

今回は、私の好きなアニメの、バイオレットエバーガーデン、を紹介します。

このアニメは、京都アニメーションによって作られました。

京都アニメーションは京都にあるアニメスタジオで、美しいアニメの絵を描くことで有名です。

バイオレットエバーガーデンは、そんな京都アニメーションの美しいアニメーションのうちの一つです。

Violet Evergarden is an anime that depictsabout a human drama.

This anime’s title is the name of main character.

Her name is Violet.

She is an orphan and a slave girl.

She is bought by the army.

And she is trained to be a capable soldier.

Violet hasn't had emotions since she was born.

She kill many people in war without hesitation as a cruel soldier.

So Violet is feared by people .

バイオレットエバーガーデンは、ヒューマンドラマを描いたアニメです。

このアニメのタイトルは主人公の名前となっています。

彼女の名前は、バイオレットといいます。

彼女は孤児であり奴隷の少女です。

彼女は軍隊に買われて、有能な兵士になるために訓練されます。

バイオレットは、生まれつき感情を持っていません。

彼女は残酷な兵士として多くの人々を戦争でためらいなく殺します。

そのため、彼女は人々から恐れられています。

But only one person is kind to Violet.

His name is Gilbert.

He is a supervisor of her and he raised her like her real parents.

He is called  “major” from Violet.

しかし、彼女に優しい人が1人だけいます。

彼の名前はギルベルトといいます。

彼は彼女の上官で、彼女の本当の両親のように彼女を育てます。

彼はバイオレットから「少佐」と呼ばれています。

In the fight of war, they are attacked by their enemies.

And Gilbert is injured seriously.

Lastly He said to Violet, “Get run away to live and  I love you”.

During the fight, they are separated.

And Violet was saved, but Gilbert was missing.

Violet wants to know the meaning of Gilbert’s last word “I love you”.

But  She can’t understand that word’s meaning because she hasn’t had emotions.

戦争の戦いの中で、彼らは敵に襲われます。

そして、ギルベルトは重傷を負ってしまいます。

最後に、ギルベルトは、バイオレットに「逃げて生き延びろ、きみを愛してる」と言います。

戦いの最中、彼女達は離れ離れになってしまきます。

そして、バイオレットは救出されますが、ギルベルトは行方不明になります。

バイオレットは、ギルベルトの最後の言葉「愛してる」の意味を知りたいと思います。

しかし、彼女は、感情を持っていないため、その言葉の意味が理解できません。

After the war Violet is taken in by Mr.Hodgins, who is a friend of Gilbert.

Hodgins manages the post office and hires many “dolls”, which is the job of writing heartfelt letters instead of customers in this story.

Violet decides to be a “doll” to understand the meaning of Gilbert’s last word, “I love you”.

And she tries to write letters instead of those who want to take their heart to their precious.

戦争が終わった後、バイオレットは、ホッジンズというギルベルトの友人に引き取られます。
ホッジンズは、郵便局を経営しており、この物語では、お客さんに代わって心のこもった手紙を書く仕事である、「ドール」と呼ばれる人たちを雇っています。

バイオレットは、ギルベルトの最後の言葉「愛してる」の意味を知るべく「ドール」になることを決意します。

そして、大切な人に気持ちを伝えたいと考える人々に代わって手紙を書こうとするのでした。

My introduction of the anime “Violet Evergarden” is finished .

I think one of the highlights of this anime is how Violet understands her emotions by writing people’s letters.

And another highlight is whether Violet can meet Gilbert again or not?

Of course, The beautiful anime paintings drawn by Kyoto animation are also worth seeing.
