Amazon Open Sources SageMaker Neo To Run Machine Learning Models At The Edge

Amazon has announced a new open source project, Neo-AI, which attempts to optimize the performance of machine learning models for a variety of platforms.

「アマゾンは新しいオープンソースプロジェクト Neo-AIを開始すると発表。このプロジェクトでは様々なプラットフォームでの機械学習のパフォーマンスを最適化しようとするものだ。」

Neo-AI project turns SageMaker Neo into an open source project making it possible for hardware and software vendors to extend the platform.

「Neo-AIプロジェクトでは、SageMaker Neoをハードウェアならびにソフトウェアベンダーが彼らのプラットフォームを拡張できるオープンソースにする。」

In its current form, Amazon SageMaker Neo supports NVIDIA Jetson TX1, NVIDIA Jetson TX2, Raspberry Pi 3, and AWS DeepLens as target deployments with support for Xilinx, Cadence, and Qualcomm coming soon.

「現状の仕様では、Amazon SageMaker Neoは、以下の環境に対応している。NVIDIA Jetson TX1,、NVIDIA Jetson TX2、 Raspberry Pi 3、Xilinxのために開発されたAWS DeepLens、Cadence、そしてQualcommだ。」

The battle to win the edge computing platform is heating up. With Microsoft investing in Azure IoT Edge and Google taking its popular TPUs to the edge, Amazon is moving fast.

「エッジコンピューティングの戦いは加熱している。マイクロソフトのAzure IoT EdgeやGoogleのTPUsとともに、Amazonもエッジコンピューティングの世界で加速度を上げてきた。」

大量データや高機能プロセッサを使ってAIを学習させた後は、AIの実行環境をいかにマイクロにするか。エッジコンピューティングは、モノのインターネットから、モノのAI化を加速させる心臓部になりそうだ。
