proactive

I went to shopping and I was searching clothes to give for my father tomorrow.

The staff asked to me "Will you give it for him tomorrow?" without saying something other words.

I understand he thought I was searching a present for my father, but I felt a little bit creepy about that.

I thought that to behave proactively too much in communicating is not comfortable for me.
