Major Problems of Employment for the people with deisabilities in Japan

I am working to support visually impaired teenage students.

One of them will be getting a job next spring.

She was not able to get a job in a company, but instead found a very low-paying job for the people with deisabilities.

There are two main types of employment for the people with deisabilities in Japan.

1.employment provided by companies

2.low-wage employment for the people with deisabilities

I was very surprised when I visited Seattle in 2019.That in the US, due to the ADA law, there are no forms of employment like 2.

In the U.S., people with various disabilities, both mentally and visually impaired, were employed at the same wage as people without disabilities.

In Japan, there are people with deisabilities working for a salary of 10,000 yen (about $70) per month. The average monthly income of Japanese people aged 20-24 is 220,000 yen (about 1520 dollars). This shows how physically challenged people are in a low-wage working environment.

This has various backgrounds.

-Failure on the part of employers to provide a working environment for the people with deisabilities even if they are hired.

-Insufficient education for the people with deisabilities before they enter the workforce

-There are no specialists in vocational rehabilitation for the people with deisabilities like in the U.S.

-In Japan, there is a culture of not causing trouble to others, and the people with deisabilities themselves give up.

After seeing the efforts in Seattle, I felt that what is being done in Japan is a violation of human rights for the people with deisabilities.

I would like to address these issues one at a time, as the U.S. has done, and solve the wage gap in Japan.
