I'm a university student in Kyoto. I am going to write a blog about the lecture of my global engagement class.

The speaker's name is Nozomi Oka. She worked as a marketing manager. She studied abroad in the United Kingdom for a year. Now, her main work is brand marketing and her side work is certification advisor of B Corp.

2. The issue

I think that she paid attention to the impact of our choices. The reason is she wanted to convey that there is an option to choose products from B Corp-certified companies to make a good choice for the environment.

3. The motivation of the speaker

A person's choices have bad and good effects in many ways. Therefore, she wanted to say that B Corp is a group of people who want to change the world to change that choice from negative to positive.

4. The type of community

A community of similar interest because she wants to better world. I thought that a community with common interests would be a great force to make the world a better place.

5. Engage with the community

I think she is involved with the community with her beliefs. I thought that by having a belief, more people with the same belief would gather and become a great power.

6. The skill

I think it's about having the courage to face anything. Unpredictable things happen when you act with courage. I thought it would be better if I could enjoy it.

7. My Discoveries

At first, I didn't understand what she was talking about, but as I listened, I could understand why she was talking, and I thought it was an interesting lecture. I didn't know B Corp existed, but I'm glad to know that non-profit organizations and companies are doing good things for society. In this lecture, I discovered I couldn't obtain such information because I hadn't always kept an eye on environmental issues.
