画像3 分類上はコオロギなどに近い仲間です。よく「ミミズの鳴き声」と言われるのは繁殖期の本種の鳴き声です。It is a related species of crickets, and male mole crikets sing in the late autumn. In Japan, many people mistake the song of this species for the song of earthworms.
