僕が書く英検1級ライティング（2022年度第3回）

僕個人の感覚（？）なのかもしれませんが、

TOEICの学習法や体験記はそれなりに出回っているけど

英検1級の学習法や体験記は相対的に見るととても稀少な気がします。

であれば、英検1級1発合格といえど大した点数では合格していない僕でも

少しはお役に立てる情報が提供できるのでは、と最近思っています。

ライティングについて

今回はまず、違う意味で英検1級を目指す方の励みになりたく

英検1級の英作文を披露します！

今回は2022年度第3回の英作文に挑戦してみました。

まずお断りしておくと、「違う意味で」とはどういうことかというと

「これでも合格できるのか」

と思っていただきたくて披露してみる、ということです。

僕は何人かのご指摘の通り、英語上達完全マップで英語力の土台を作ってから

英検1級に挑戦しました。

つまり「1発合格」といえど、ある程度の力が身についた上で挑戦したわけです。

しかし、ライティングについてはまともに練習したことはおろか

エッセー調の文章を書いたことなどありませんでした。

なので、今回のものはゼロからとは言いませんがそれに近いところから出発して

合格点を取れたということです。

旺文社の模範解答のようなものは少なくとも僕には作れません。

というより、見ると自信を無くします。

同じように感じている方がいたらぜひご参考にして下さい。

僕が受けたときの試験結果

先ほども言ったように、スレスレに近いような結果です。

27/32点 【内訳】内容7/8、構成8/8、語い6/8、文法6/8 【合計】84%、CSE714

結果的には満足していますが、これでは参考にならないという方、貴重なお時間を使ってここまで読んでいただき、ありがとうございました。

もしこれくらいでも良い、完璧ではないが合格できる答案を見てみたい、エッセーの経験ほぼゼロから1発で合格する方法が知りたい（これは次回にでも書こうかと思います）という方はぜひ、僕の拙い文章でよければご覧ください。

ただし、以下の点をご了承いただけたらに限ります。

• 実際に試験を受けたときの文章ではありません（完璧に再現なんてできない）

• とはいえ、その当時とライティング能力に変わりはないはずです（その後書いていないので）

• ネイティブチェックはありません（間違いなどありましたらすみません）

Agree or disagree: Industrialization has had an overall beneficial effect on humankind

It goes without saying that our society has had the benefit of industrialization to some extent. For example, COVID-19 vaccine, the mass production of which was made possible thanks to industrialization, has played a vital role in alleviating impacts of the pandemic. However, I cannot agree completely that industrialization has been of benefit to the entire world. There are three reasons for my opinion.

First, accelerating industrialization has destroyed the environment. Global warming is a case in point. It is causing so many problems that some places on our planet could be uninhabitable in the near future. Additionally, industrialization has rendered bulk production of plastics possible, and a rubbish heap of them could do severe damage to the environment, too.

Second, we may lose tradition owing to industrialization. Machines are able to produce our everyday items in large quantities. This means that we can buy them inexpensively. However, people whose job is making expensive yet quality merchandise in traditional ways will lose their job, and this of course will lead to the loss of the tradition itself.

Third, industrialization could cause our daily lives to become monotonous. Take UNIQLO for instance, the products of which are completely machine-made and thus very affordable. The affordability of them makes so many people buy and wear them. If we were to wear the same shirt as others every day, our lives would be monotonous.  

In conclusion, for the reasons stated above, the destruction of the environment, the loss of tradition, and the monotonous world without its diversity, I don’t believe that industrialization has had an overall beneficial effect on humankind.

こんな英作文で偉そうなことを言うな、などと批判もありそうですが言い訳しません。

僕の力ではこれぐらいが限界です。

恥を忍んで、皆様の役に立ちたいと思って頑張りはしましたが、こんなもんです。

これでもよければ次回あたり、どう勉強したかやコツを書いてみようと思います。
