犬を連れた少女(創作）

彼女に会ったのはレストランだった。
私はレストランの窓際の席に座っていた。
女の子がそのレストランに入ろうとしていたところ、燕尾服に身を包み、羽毛付きの白鳥皮で覆われたソールを持つ靴をはいたウエイターが「すみません、レストランに入ることはできません」と語った。

いいえ！あなたは完全に間違っています！

ここはアメリカです、それは豪華なレストランではなく、マクドナルドのようなファーストフードのレストランです。

最初からやりなおしましょう。
それで私はカウンター席に座っていた。
あのレストランは、ホームレスの人々にとって大きな問題です。
彼らはとてもフレンドリーでも丁寧でもありません。
しかし、彼らは時々忙しく、犬を連れている人を追い出す時間がありません。
犬と一緒にやってくる人が多すぎます。
それはホームレスの人々も同じです。
かれらは、ホームレスを追い出すためにする必要がある事なら何でもするわけではありません。
ホームレスは入浴にレストランのトイレを使い、床はいつも濡れています。

彼女はトイレに入った。
長い時間がたちました、しかし彼女は出ませんでした。
水の音がトイレから聞こえてきています。
私は彼女が裸の体を洗うことをほんの少し想像したことは白状しますが、彼女をちらっと見たわけでは決してありません。
犬は心配そうに彼女のテーブルのそばで待っていました。
私は彼のために口笛を吹いた。
犬が私のところに来ました。
私はレストランの前の庭に出て、犬と遊んだ。
彼女はついに出てきて、「私の犬を世話してくれてありがとう」と言った。
私は彼女ともっと話したいと思ったが、話したのはそれだけでした。
彼女はもうそのレストランに来ることはできません。
犬と遊んだ楽しい時間でした。

A Little Girl with a Dog.

It was at a restaurant when I saw her.

I was sitting in a window seat at the restaurant.

A girl was about to enter the restaurant, then a grace faced server, in dress coat and shoes with swan-skin soles, said to her, “Excuse me madam, but dogs can’t enter our restaurant, sorry.”

No! You are completely wrong!

This is in America and it is not a glamorous restaurant but a fast-food restaurant like McDonald’s.

So, let’s start from the beginning again.

I was sitting in a counter seat.

That restaurant has a real problem with homeless people.

The staff are not friendly, nor are they polite.

But, they are busy sometimes and don’t have the time to chase out people with dogs.

They have too many people coming there with their dogs. 　

It is the same with the homeless people.

Whatever they need to do to get rid of the homeless, they are not doing it.

The homeless use the restaurant’s restroom to bathe, and so the floor is always wet.

The girl entered the restroom.

A long time passed, but she didn’t come out.

The sound of water was coming from the restroom.

I confess I imagined her washing her naked body, but I never stole a glance at her.

The dog was waiting worriedly at her table.

I whistled for him.

Her dog came to me.

I went out to the front yard of the restaurant and I played with him.

She finally came out and said, “Thank you for caring for my dog.”

I wanted to talk more with her, but that’s all we said.

She can’t go to that restaurant anymore.

It was a pleasant time playing with the dog, though.
