What's the OLDCORD

We have received a question from a customer about Old Cord, so we would like to take this opportunity to briefly introduce Old Cord.

Old Cord is a custom spool store (that's why we are always short of stock), designed, developed, manufactured, and managed by a native trout angler based in Kansai, Japan.

The creator (myself) has experienced almost all types of fishing including ocean fishing and bass fishing, and currently enjoys mainly native trout fishing.

A mountain stream is a wonderful place to experience not only the beauty of the fish you encounter, but also the sense of togetherness of mountains, rivers, and nature.

After using a variety of reels, I decided that old tackle is the best match for mountain streams, and I now use old reels for all my fishing trips.

I have not touched a modern reel for a long time, but I am sure that the latest reels have evolved tremendously.

On the other hand, almost all of the old reels have been discontinued, and I think it can be said that they have degenerated rather than evolved.

This is one of the reasons why I am attracted to old reels.

However, I have not been able to go fishing recently because I have been working on a new spool, and I have been agonizing over what the spool is for.

On the other hand, when I imagine the scene where the spools I have made meet with fish, I feel much more pleasantly than when I catch them myself.

Not only in the Kansai region, but all over Japan, there are many beautiful mountains and breathtaking sights awaiting us as fishing cooperatives release their fish into the sea.

We want to pass on such wonderful scenery and old reels to future generations forever.

I don't care how old it is.

We will hold the reins (=cord) firmly and do our best to do what we can.

With this in mind, we have named our project "Old Cord".
