In the FOREST

Thank you for reading.

We are approaching the end of this year's mountain stream season.
The 21 season that I had been looking forward to so much has passed in a blink of an eye, and I can count the number of fish I have encountered on both hands.

However, considering how difficult it was to go fishing last year due to the Corona disaster, I am even moved just to be able to swing my rod.
I would also like to thank the fishermen's association and those who are involved in forest and road maintenance on a daily basis.

Recently, I am often asked by people who do not fish at all, "What do you do?" I am often asked by people who do not fish at all.

This is a very annoying question.

If I were to suddenly say, "I manufacture lightweight shallow groove spools and blanking heavyweight aluminum spools for Langley," there would be no one around me.

What would be a good analogy?

For example.

If I were to say, "We make engines for the Mazda Carol 360 to compete in modern F1 racing."

What do you think?

I'm sure complaints would fly in from all quarters, but this is just an image.

Of course, there is no way that they are actually building an engine, and what they are building is a mere cylinder at first glance.

It is far from being an engine.

However, if you are a fisherman, you can easily imagine the importance of this part.

It can be said that the entire performance of the reel depends on this part.

It is like an F1 car that outputs 700 horsepower in an instant, which is unimaginable from its small body, by allocating all its strength to weight reduction.

On the other hand, a direct reel manufactured half a century ago is used in mountain stream fishing, which requires the utmost delicacy, as the weight is reduced by a factor of 1/100 every day.

I am "producing reel engines" while setting myself this kind of mission. What a dream!

I would like to be able to be proud of myself like this while immersing myself in a dreamy state of mind.

When asked what I am doing, I would like to say that I am currently making "F1 cars.

However, the true value of F1 cars, which are researched and developed by many countries, is tested on the race track.

Sometimes, they can blow up in an instant.

Reels, too, do not blow up, but their true value is tested on a circuit called a mountain stream.
In mountain stream fishing, where you are always dealing with nature, not only rain and wind, but also avalanches and thunderstorms peculiar to mountain tops occur frequently. Bears can also appear.

In the end, no matter how much we try to find the best value in the safest place, we are often betrayed.

I believe that manufacturers must always keep in mind that "it is in the field that performance is tested.

The answer is always in the forest.
