英詩が読めるようになるマガジンの副配信です。スコットランドの Jean Redpath (1937-2014) が歌うアザラシの歌。アザラシはスコットランドやアイルランドのフォークロアでよく出てくる。アザラシ人の伝説があり、アザラシが祖先と信じる人々もいる。音楽に耳を傾けるアザラシの群れのことはよく知られている。この歌で合いの手のように入るスコットランド・ゲール語的なひびきのリフレーンの言葉の意味は不詳。この種のリフレーンの意味が解ける日が来るか。
