英語日記#4 紹介について

おはようございます。今日は朝から子供とサイクリングに行ってきた。朝7時過ぎから出発して、海沿いを漕いでいたら知らぬ間に1時間半も自転車を漕いでいた。海沿いは自転車を漕いでいてもとても気持ちいいので、時間を忘れてしまう。

Good morning.  I went cycling with my kids this morning.  I left after 7:00 in the morning, and when I was paddling along the coast, I found myself pedaling for an hour and a half before I knew it.  It feels so good to ride a bicycle along the coast that I forget the time.


今日は、人を紹介してほしいと言われた時の話をしたい。最近、後輩からデザイナーを紹介してほしいと、依頼されたので、自分が信頼できるデザイナーを紹介した。結果としては、紹介したデザイナーがプロジェクトに採用された。なぜ私は後輩に大好きなデザイナーを紹介したかというと、紹介してほしいと言ってくれた後輩が自分の信頼できる、後輩だったからである。

Today I would like to talk about when I was asked to introduce myself.  Recently, I was asked by a junior to introduce me to a designer, so I introduced a reliable designer.  As a result, the introduced designer was hired for the project.  The reason I introduced my favorite designers to my juniors was because the juniors who were asked to introduce me were trustworthy juniors.

私は、人から紹介してほしいと言われた際に、その人がどのくらい信頼できる人かを確認するようにしている。その信頼できるレベルによって、2つやり方を選択している。①紹介する時に自分が同席してファシリテーションして紹介する場合。②信頼できる同士なので、自分は同席しないで直接繋げる場合である。

When someone asks me for an introduction, I try to check how trustworthy they are.  There are two ways to choose depending on the reliability level.  (1) If you are present at the time of introduction and facilitate the introduction.  (2) Since you can trust each other, you can connect directly without being present.

なるべく自分を頼りにしてくれたら応えるように頑張っているがやはり信頼度が高い②のレベルの人に紹介する方が上手くプロジェクトが進んでいるケースが多いのが現状である。

We do our best to respond to those who rely on us, but the current situation is that there are many cases where we introduce a highly reliable level 2 person to proceed with the project.

自分の信頼できる人同士の繋がりは感性も合うしハレーションが少なく進むんだなと思う。
だからこそ信頼できる人のネットワークをどれだけ広げるかで自分の影響力の範囲が決まると思う。

I think that the connection between people you can trust will match your sensibilities and progress with less halation.
 That's why I think the scope of your influence is determined by how much you expand your network of people you can trust.

このまま書き続けたら長くなりそうなので、今日はここで日記を終わりたいと思う。明日は自分なりの信頼構築のやり方について日記を書きたいと思う。

If I continue writing like this, it will be long, so I would like to end my diary here today.  Tomorrow I will write a diary entry on how to build trust in my own way.
