“My second life started in the winter of 2022-2023.”

Last night, I wrote about the misunderstandings between Japanese trans activism and gay activism.

I discussed this with Tomato-san, a trans sex worker activist in Japan and one of the original members of Japanese trans activism. I am an early member of the first generation of activists, but I had forgotten or become confused about my involvement with them.

I remembered it through my writing. I noted that I started researching in 1997. Additionally, three of my writings included the same explanations from that year about those who started their activism in a zine she edited.

I wrote this in the summer of 2022 and read it in the spring of 2023. That time marked the beginning of my second life. I have been slowly reclaiming my identity ever since, grabbing back who I am.
