Foreigners cannot work without a work permit, so I haven't been able to work since I came 14 months ago last year. Since I'm not working, I can't use MSP (Medical Services Plan). I also don't have insurance, so I have to pay all medical expenses out of pocket.

Getting a work permit is not easy. I can get it by completing a refugee application, but it will take at least another three months. If I get a student visa, I can work 20 hours a week, but I need to have 30,000 Canadian dollars in a bank account for the application.

Each month, the rent is 600 dollars, and testosterone costs just under 500 dollars.

I only have 2,600 dollars left in savings.
