私にはささやかな贅沢がある。それは、なるべく生活に花を欠かさないようにすること。自分の心地よさのためもあるけれど、何よりも小さな子供たちの原風景の一つとなればと思っている。
普段は切花を1本、ダイニングテーブルに飾っている。季節に応じた花を置くことで、確かに部屋の雰囲気が変わる。あるのとないのでは大違い。中でも春のこの時期は特別だ。少し思い切って桜の枝を買って帰るのだ。
当然、街や公園に咲く桜を眺めるのだけれど、こうして花屋さんで桜を買ったその帰り道は「春を持って帰る」感じがするし、家に飾れば「春が家にいる」みたいな気分になる。これは他にはない体験だ。
時間は絶えず流れ、物事は決してとどまらない。忙しさの中にいるとそれに気づけないことがある。わたしは季節の移ろいやそれが紡ぐ美しさを感じられる自分でありたい。
移ろうことを引き受け、慈しむこと。子供たちの胸の内に、美しい原風景を育てるように。そう考えれば時の経過も味わい深いものになる。

Vol.5: Table flowers | 食卓の花
As a small luxury, I really care about not missing flowers in my life as much as possible. I hope this will be one of the primary images that come to my children's minds when they think of their childhood.
I usually just put one cut flower on the dining table. But at this time of spring, I'll buy a brunch of cherry blossoms.
On the way back after I bought it, it felt like "I'm going home with spring." If I decorate it at home, I feel like "Spring is at home." So this experience is a bit unique.
I want to feel the changing seasons as time goes by -even if I was in hard times - and it tells me that things can't stay in one place. I call it the beauty of transition.
To accept and cherish the transition. Like cultivating a beautiful original landscape in the hearts of children. If you think about it that way, the passage of time becomes a true pleasure.
