(Ⅰ)初めに　Introduction

皆さんこんにちは！
墨田区姉妹店3店舗の黄金湯・大黒湯・さくら湯、時には東新宿にある姉妹店の金沢湯でも働いている内藤です。銭湯が大好きで数年前にこの世界に飛び込んできました。

普段の主な仕事内容は、皆さんもすぐに思い浮かべることができる番台での鍵交換や清掃から開店前のお風呂の仕込みまで多岐にわたります。

Hello everyone!!
My name is Naito, work at our three sister public bath in Sumida:Koganeyu, Daikokuyu, Sakurayu, and Kanazawayu in Shinjuku. I love sento and jumped into this world a few years ago.

The main job contents are usually wide ranging such as changing key at the front desk, cleaning the bathroom, and preparing and boiling water before opening hour.

(Ⅱ)黄金湯から見たここ数年　Seeing the Past Few Years from Koganeyu

そんな僕もこの世界に飛び込んできたのは数年前のコロナ禍真っ只中。当時は海外のお客様もほぼ0人に等しく、日本人のお客様でさえ今ほど活気がなくとても寂しい思いをしたことを覚えています。

しかしながらここ数ヶ月、押上・錦糸町エリアでもたくさんの海外の方を見かける機会が増えてきました。黄金湯にも連日海外からのお客様が多くご来店され、コロナ禍の状況とは大きく環境が変化し、少しずつ回復してきているように感じます。

It's such me, but I jumped into this world a few years ago during height of the coronavirus pandemic. At that time, there were almost no customers from overseas, and even Japanese customers were not as lively as they are now, and I remember feeling sad.

However, over the past few months, We have been seeing more and more people from overseas in the Oshiage and Kinshicho area. Many customers from abroad visit Koganeyu everyday, and the environment has changed dramatically since the coronavirus pandemic, and it feels like slowly recovering.

(Ⅲ)開催経緯　The Sequence of Event

そんな嬉しい状況下でも度々海外のお客様が脱衣所や浴室で困っている姿を見かけます。浴室に入るまでにどうしたら良いのか、時には番台スタッフに「どうしてタオルを頭の上に乗せてるの？」等たくさんの質問を投げかけてくださるお客様も多く、次第にスタッフ内でも「より海外のお客様に銭湯の魅力を知ってもらいたい。」また、「銭湯の歴史や入浴マナーについても詳しくお伝えできる機会があれば良いな。」と思うようになりました。

Even under such happy circumstances, we often see customers from abroad having trouble in the changing room and bathroom. There are many customers who sometimes ask the front desk staff many questions, such as "Why do I have to put a towel on my head?" "I don't know what to do by the time I get to the bathroom". For these reasons, our staff gradually began to think "We want more customers from abroad to know about the appeal of sento'' and " We wish we had the opportunity to tell them more about the history of sento and bathing etiquette.''

(Ⅳ)"SENTORANCE JAPAN"とは　About "SENTORANCE JAPAN"

そこで今回、黄金湯と姉妹店の大黒湯にて海外の方に向けた銭湯体験ツアーを行う運びとなりました。その名もSENTORANCE JAPAN。銭湯(SENTO)が日本の入口(ENTRANCE)として海外のお客様との懸け橋になってくれたらいいな。という思いで名付けました。

当日は銭湯ラバーの内藤が、銭湯の歴史について特製の紙芝居を使用し、分かりやすくお伝えいたします。その後、入浴マナーについてもイラストを用いたクイズで学習し、実際に入浴・サウナ体験を行っていただきます。

Therefore, we have decided to hold a public bath experience tour for overseas visitors at Koganeyu and its sister store, Daikokuyu. Its name is "SENTORANCE JAPAN". I chose the name with the hope that the pablic bath would act as an entrance to Japan and serve as a bridge between people from other countries.

On the day of the event, I dote on sento will explain the history of public baths clearly using a specially made picture story show. After that, customers will learn about bathing manners through quizzes using illustrations, and then you'll be able to take a bath and experience a sauna.
