What is the country of the 2nd smallest population？

By the way, do you think what country of the smallest population in the world is? --Yes, it's Vatican. But, today, I 'm going to talk about the country of the second smallest population in the world. Do you know where it is? The name of it is 'Niue'. Have you ever heard of that name, or have you ever visited the place?

Here's some information from the article which I read the other day.
Niue is one of the floating island countries with the largest coral leaf as well as great nature in South-Pacific Ocean. It is located in the 2400 km north-east of New Zealand. The area is as same as half of Tokyo's 23 ward and the population is about 1700. This is one of the newest countries in the world, which Japan has approved as 195th in May,2015.

Location of Niue

I'll let you know how to go there is that you go to NZ at first and then, you will fly there from NZ. The flight is twice a week. It takes about 3 hours.

Niue's life is like this: there are no luxury cars, no brands like Chanel, or Gucci, however, anyone doesn't care about this. No criminal, moreover, anyone doesn't need any house keys and car keys. People are so comfortable, surrounded with clean air, clean water, blue ocean, and green trees. They are no worries if children play everywhere. They do not have pay anything for water supply, a house rent, and school tuition.

In 1901, Niue was used to be a dependency of NZ. In 1974, Niue got an autonomy and then, got independent. However, people in Niue do not have their own passport and they have the rights of citizen in NZ. Because of that reason, most countries in the world think it a self-governing territory of NZ even now.

There are just one school, one supermarket, one postal box, and one police office in Niue. Quarter of the population is civil servant, and they work 4 times a week. One third of National Revenue depends on assistance of NZ.

As I mentioned above, it seems Niue is completely different from one of the small countries like Singapore, which is rich and a society of mass production and mass consumption.
