#48 ラジオって何？（Why you prefer online audio media?）

日本の皆様はクラブハウスというサービスを覚えていますでしょうか？少しの間一世を風靡した、音声メディア・サービスです。その一世を風靡していた間、アンドロイド使いの私はクラブハウスに参加できずに、アンドロイドにアプリが出てきた頃には、すでに一世は風靡していなかったという乗り遅れ感がすごく、残念でした。

あー、イーロン・マスクが話しているのとか聞いてみたかった。とか思ったりすることはありますが、実は今でもたまに聞いています。〇〇（ミュージシャンの名前とか）好きな人大集合みたいなコミュニティーとか、メンバーの条件が、「〇〇をして、世の中に貢献したい経営者」みたいなコミュニティーに所属者が1400人もいて、こんな条件に当てはまる人が世の中に1400人もいるのかと驚いたりもしています。

トレンダーズの2021年の調査によると、約31%の人が何かしらのインターネット音声メディアを使用したことがあり、それは上記のグラフのような理由によるということです。31%、思ったよりは高い気がする。ユーチューブ全盛期の時代に音声のみで、大体3人に一人。

どうして聞いているんだろう。１位が「他人の声や会話を聞くのが好きだから」っていうのは結構好きかも。時間を有効に使いたいからとかだけではなく、ただ”声を聞くのが好き”。ワイワイした感じが好きなのか、なんとなくうちわな会話の盗み聞きしているような感じが好きなのか。気持ちはわかる気がする。３番目の常に何か音声を聞いていたいにもつながるような気がする。いい声の人がずっと当たり障りのないことを話していてほしいような（身勝手）、ドラマのように感情を揺さぶらないで欲しいような。疲れるから。

ラジオじゃだめな理由はなんだろう？番組の選択肢が少なくなってしまうからか、オンタイムで聞かないといけないからか、いまやラジオ持ってないというか、そもそもラジオって何っていうっていう感じかも（恐怖）。。。

Does any of you remember clubhouse? Well this is the scary question considering that it has just launched early this year with so big impact to media market. I couldn't use it when it was on media since there was no Android app. Then when the Android available, it was not as trending as before... I was like very late comer. 

I missed some celebrities talking in clubhouse. Believe or not, I still use it. I randomly join to particular musician's fan community. Also find interesting to see so many people are joining to the community which is limited to entrepreneurs who have interested in particular management methodology and highly motivated to contribute to social wel-being. I was surprised to know that there are so many Japanese like that. 

Trenders (2021) shows that around 31% of people have used online audio media in Japan such as podcast. Motivations for using them are show in the chart above too (Trenders, 2021). 31%... Do you think it high or low? Personally I feel it higher than expected in this YouTube-Movie days.

Why are they listening to them? I like the reason ranked top in the chart. "I like to listen to others' voice & conversation.  Not just like you want to spend the time wisely but you just "like" listening others. Do they like those fun atmosphere? Or you like the feeling that you listen in somebody's conversation? Also I feel that it is related to the 3rd reason "I always need some sound round me".  Maybe just want some person with good voice to talk something not very special. Not like TV dramas which squeeze your energy.

What's wrong with radio then? Do you need more variety in programs? You want to listen to them in flexible time slot? Well, simply you don't have a radio or don't even know what the radio is?? That is scary...
