#92 東京の闇・・・自転車（Bycicles are stolen so often in Tokyo）

シンガポールは今空前のサイクリングブーム、、、のような気がする。Meetupなどをみても募集がいっぱい。周りの友達も結構本格的な自転車とウェアで毎週。シンガポールは小さいし、まっ平らなので自転車は走りやすそう。コロナ中は走りすぎて、規制が出たほどの盛況っぷり。5人以上で走らないようにとか。

そういえば数年前にもシンガポールで自転車ブームが起きたことがあったような。その時は例の乗り捨てOKの自転車シェアサービスが大流行したときでした。やはり乗り捨てがゴミになり、とうとう政府が規制するというときに外資の会社は突然サービスをストップし預り金を持ち逃げ、自分も50ドルくらいの持ち逃げに会いました（遠い目）。それいらいその会社になにかペナルティーがあったという話も聞かないしどうしたんだろう。。。

そんななか、、、東京は言わずとしれた自転車都市ですが、うっすらみんな思ってはいるだろうけど、実態の分からない闇を暴いた調査を発見してしまいました（展開に無理がある）。au損害保険株式会社(2022)は週に１回以上自転車を使用する人を対象に盗難に関する実態調査を行い、約41%の人が過去盗難の経験があると発表しました。。。41%!!多い！なんなら自宅で盗まれた方が33%。いやいや。

41%の人が盗まれた経験ありっていう製品他にあるんだろうか。。。傘？傘はなんならもっと率が高そう。でも自転車は金額が高くてダメージが大きいですね。ちなみに鍵を二重にしてて盗まれた人が約9%います。そうすると、どうすればいいんでしょう？基本的に世界でも治安が良いとされる東京ですが、住んでいると闇がないわけではない、、、そりゃそうか。こんなに人口の多い都市も世界にあまりないですしね。

解決策は、、、自分で買わずDOCOMO利用！かも。

I think everybody in Singapore enjoy cycling recently. I see lots of meetups and quite a lot of my friends have professional bike and gears. Well, Singapore is very small and very flat. It is very nice to enjoy cycling I assume. It is as popular as that government particularly made COVID regulation for cycling like maximum group size (5 people).

Thinking about it, there was a spike of cyclers in Singapore few years before COVID. It was not sport cycling like now but from shared cycle service from overseas. At the time, bike station was not required and it was really convenient. However it caused a lot of broken bikes left on the road and it was banned soon. Ummm, I remember that one of the company I subscribed stopped the service suddenly and didn't give us back its deposit, $50 each I think… (Sad). I don't hear anything about the company after that but it seems there was not penalty for the company so far…

Believe or not, Tokyo is know as huge cycler population for daily use. People there, I think, kind of aware that crime rate around bicycles are high. The report, au Insurance Company,Limited(2022) revealed the dark side of Tokyo…(?) According to the report, around 41% of cyclers who use bicycle at least once in a week have stolen their bike… 41%!! That is much higher than I expected. Then 33% of them have their bike stolen at home… Oh…

What I can think of for belongings stolen from 41% of users… Oh, maybe umbrella?? It would be even higher (Maybe). Bicycle is more expensive and the mental damage would be bigger… By the way, 9% of them actually are stolen their bike with having 2 locks when they park… What else can we do? Tokyo is known as the safe city and I believe it is. But it does not mean that there was not dark side, of course. Tokyo is such a big and chaotic city.

My proposal is… to use DOCOMO shared bike! Lol. You don't need to take a risk of having your own?? (maybe).
