#118 梅雨が最速で明けたらしい！ (The rainy season finished so early this year!）

毎日ジョギングに行こう！と思っていると当然ではありますが、雨の日はどうしようとなります。皆さんどうしているのでしょう？知り合いにも1年間毎日走っていますみたいな人はいますが、そういえば雨の日どうしているのか聞いたことは無いかも。ジム？雨の日走らないとなると日本は梅雨があるので結構継続難しいですよね。いや、人情的には雨の日には今日は許してという気持ちにはなります（意思が弱い男）。鉄人の意見を求む。

そういえば前回日本に行ったときに、お昼ごはんにキッチンカーの店員さんと話をしていて「今日は雨なんで暇ですね」的なことを話されていました。ビジネスにもそれはそれは影響があるのが雨。良くも悪くも。

東京は早くも梅雨が明けたと聞きました。早い！東京は6月27日ごろとのこと。早い（気がする）。6月末というと大昔の記憶をたどると沖縄とかのイメージ。いや、自分の記憶力は全く信じていないけど。

というわけで、気象庁（2022）のデータを見てみました。梅雨明け日の履歴（？）を2000年くらいからみていると、6月末に終わっていた年がなかったわけではない、全く記憶にないですが2018年は6月29日とかなり早かった様子。それでも平均すると代替7月17日くらい。やっぱり早い。資料には1951年からのデータがあったのですが、6月27日は一応史上最早記録の更新のようです。棒グラフを見ても梅雨明けが遅い年でも、梅雨の間の雨の量が必ずしも多かったとも限らない様子。今年はどうだったんだろう？どうでした？6月中旬に東京にいたのですが、そこまで激しい雨の日には当たらなかったような気がしなくもない。

こう見ると梅雨明けが遅い年と早い年で1ヶ月くらいの差があるのか。知らなかった。一方シンガポールというと11月から1月が雨季とは言われてはいますが、ここ数年そんなスゴイ雨季らしい雨季には出会ってない気がする。いや、記憶に自信はないけど。ただ雨はしょっちゅう降るのでその時には気にせず出かけるか、止むまで待つという感じ。ちなみに今のところジョギングは近所のビル群の屋根のある道路が結構長く続いているので、そこを数周するみたいなことで乗り切っている。（もしくは休んでいる）いやいや、毎日継続している人のモチベーションを見習いたいところ。

Once you decide to go jogging everyday, you face to one issue, rain. How actually people solve this issue? Treadmill? I have a few friends who toll me that they run everyday but I have never asked this question. Gym? In Japan, we have relatively longer rainy season, around a month. Also when it rains, it can entire day. So it should be difficult to keep daily jogging. Well I would give up if it rains in the morning (Lazy man). I need some opinions from determined person…

When I went Japan last time and went to buy lunch from food track. The staff told me that rain has huge impact to their daily business. Well, there are many people benefit from rain too in Japan like farmers. So we don't expect the rainy season to be either too short or too long. But this year… it finished so early around 27th Jun in Tokyo. Rainy season finishes usually from south of Japan first and my perception (not confident about my memory) is that Okinawa the south end of Japan finishes around end of Jun. 

So I referred to Japan Meteorological Agency (2022) data which shows the annual record of the end of rainy season in Tokyo since 1951. According to the chart above it is not that 27th of Jun is not comparably early. 2018 was as early as this year around 29th Jun. But the average is around 17th July. Also 27th Jun is the earliest in the record from 1951! So early. It seems long rainy season doesn't necessarily mean that it rains a lot. I'm wondering how it was in Tokyo this year. I was in Japan in the middle of Jun but I don't remember any heavily rained day at least. 

I actually didn't recognize that there are almost a month gap in rainy season by year. It is interesting. In a mean time, it is said that rainy season in Singapore is from Nov to Jan. However I don't think we had obvious rainy season for few years at least. Well, again I'm not confident about my memory… Anyway it rains very often in Singapore and I don't really care about it since it normally stops in few hours. I just wait for it.
Now I live in city area with lots of buildings with sheltered pavement. So I run even when it rains. (Or just lazy to go when I hear the sound of rain…). I should learn more from determined friends…
