#127 休日は一人で過ごす (How do you spend your weekend?)

"How was your weekend?" どんな週末でした？というのはシンガポールにいると、なんというかとりあえず聞いてみるみたいな会話のとっかかりのような質問です。オーストラリアに居たときもそうだったなぁ。他の国だとどうなんでしょう？日本では少なくともそんなに良くされる会話ではなかったような気がする（よく覚えてない。。。）え、実は日本でもよくされる会話だったりするのだろうか？

これはよくありすぎて結構手強い質問だったりします。いや、週末になるとでかけまくってるという人だとそうでもないとは思いますが、毎週末カフェで本を読んでいる、くらいしかやってない人（僕）からすると、いや何話そうみたいになります。まあ、正解と言うか、ありなのは「Good」とか答えて先に行くっていう感じなのかもですが、毎回それだけだとこの人週末楽しんでるのかしら？とは思われていそう（僕）

そもそも、このコロナの中みんな結構休日も出かけているのかしら。Holidaynoteの記事（２０２２）のなかで上記のグラフが紹介されていました。ちょっと調査というには、ちょっと弱い設計ではありますが、結構楽しげなので見ていこうかと。というか、休日を家で過ごす人が62%。つまり出かける人が38%。少な！3月頃に日本に行ったときに、街の人の多さに驚いた記憶がありますが、それがたったの38%（たぶん）。東京スゴイ。

さらに休日を一人で過ごしている人（僕）が約38%。適当に一人の人も代替62%が家で過ごしていると仮定すると、一人で家で過ごしている人は全体の約24%（計算が適当すぎる）。だいたい世の中の四分の一の方が一人で家で過ごしていると聞いて非常にホッとしてます。いや、これ社会的には問題か？

"How was your weekend?" I guess this is one of the common topics on Monday to start the conversations. It was the same when I was in Australia too. Is it the same for your country too? It is not in Japan as far as  remember. Well I'm not confident since I have been away from Japan for 10 years…

I personally always feel this a bit tough because I don't normally do anything special on weekend (Sad). Maybe its an easy question if you are a active person. However for those who spend most of weekend for jogging and book reading at a cafe (me), I don't have anything to reply. Maybe the correct answer is just to say "good" and go to the next topic. But I'm scared of people thinking that I'm a boring person. Yes I am…

Honestly I'm interested in how actually people spend time on weekend. Holidaynote (2022) shows the chart above. Well data is a bit well designed to see it as "representative", but I found its fun to expand imagination from them. 62% spend weekend at home, only 38% go out. Its LITTLE! When I visited Japan on Mar, I found town in Japan were so cloudy. But it was still 38%(Maybe)!! Amazing Tokyo.

On top of it, 38% spend weekend alone (Me). Assuming that also 62% of it spend weekend at home, around 24% of people spend weekend at home alone (assumption is too wild…). But I'm so relieved to hear that 1 in 4 Japanese are like me. Maybe that would be a big social issue though… I'm sure society expect me to go out and spend money Lol.
