#27 自分へのご褒美 (Reward you!)

街をフラフラしていて、たまにATMの行列ができているのを見て、「あ、今日給料日だ」って思い出したりする。シンガポールでは現金を使う機会はもはやあまり多くないとは思うのだが、やはり並んではいる。まあ、それでも昔ほどではない気もしないでもない。

給料日は並ぶもんだ的な信念のようなものであるならそれはちょっと理解できる。楽しみを味わう儀式として並ぶ、いやーもらったな今月もと。なんかそうでもしなければありがたみもなければ、もらった気もしない。（そんなことはない）給与をもらったという事実で、上げるだけテンションをあげるにはやはり、並ぶのだ。（そんなこともない）

株式会社ビズヒッツは2021年に「給料日のプチ贅沢」についての調査結果を発表しました。女性比率がやや高めでややそちらに振れている気はします。

1位は大差で「スイーツを買う」で、女性では１位、男性でも４位にランクインしていました（いま腕組みしながらうなずいている）。さもありなん。ダイエット中の中年男性（私）でも、給料日という最強の正当化要因。一ヶ月頑張ったし、少し懐暖かいし、いいよね。いやだめって言われてもこっそり食べますけどね。

何しろ質問が「プチ贅沢」についてなので、回答ももちろん「プチ」感が強い。強くてちょっと切なくなったりもする。「昼食を贅沢に」とか普段牛丼のサラリーマンのお昼が、定食にアップグレードされたりしてるんだろうか。できれば頑張っているみなさんには栄養をたくさん取っていただきたい。いや、3000円のうな重とかになっていたらそれはそれでびっくり。どのくらい「ぷち」アップデートされているのかが気になってきました。

We now seldom see long queue in front of ATMs, but we still occasionally see it and I recognize that it's the pay day today. We do not use cash so often in Singapore recently but I still see the queue in pay day. Well it is not as long as it used to be. 

I personally understand if that is peoples belief that pay day is to make a queue (?). Enjoy queuing as a ceremony of pay day. Yes you are worth queuing for since you work hard this month!!(??) Or we can not actually feel that we have got paid. You can fully utilize your pay day to motivate yourself by queuing (???)

BizHits (2021) published a report on "What 'small' reward do you prepare for you on pay day". Key is the "small" reward. (% of female is bigger that reps so the opinion slightly skewed to female)

The first is "buy some sweets to you" which is ranked top for female and 4th for male. I agreed with my arms crossed. Yes even for me, middle age person on diet, pay day is the best justification (excuse) to treat you some sweets. I deserve it since I work hard this month and have a bit of money, god will allow me to intake extra calories... Well I will do it even if you said I shouldn't.

Since the question is about "small" reward, buying cars type of answers are of course not included in this. The "smallness" of reward make me feel sad. I'm just wondering how much of upgrade people get for their lunch. It sounds to me like a very minor upgrade considering from the OA answers like convenience store lunch to lunch menu in restaurant. Well to us being overseas, food in convenience store in Japan is extremely attractive though. I'm now interested in how much of 'small upgrade' they get...
