#55 乳児とスマホ (Smartphone & babies)

最近気になるYoutubeチャンネルがあり、動画が上がるのを楽しみにしています。2才児が家族と暮らす様子が中心のチャンネルで、年の離れたお姉さんと買い物に行ったり、学校に遊びに行ったりと平和すぎる日常がたまらなく好きなのです。そしてそれを見ているとその2才の女の子が連呼しているのが「アンパンマン」、発音が「アンマンマ」に近い感じがさらに癒やされます。カワイイ。

バンダイの2018年の調査によると0-2歳児による好きなキャラクターランキングで２位以下に圧勝しているアンパンマン。子供って何でアンパンマンが好きなんでしょう。そしてDO!SOLUTIONSのレポートによると現代乳児のアンパンマン生活に欠かせないものはスマホなんだそう。確かに日本出張中に電車の中とかでスマホでアンパンマン見せていた家族を見かけた気がする。あー、僕がスマホを最初に手にしたのは30代中盤だと記憶しています。。。そんな小さいときからスマホで遊べるなんて羨ましい（本音）。

DO!SOLUTIONS（2021）の記事による、子供の年齢別の各種デバイスの使用状況をまとめたものが上記のグラフになります。0才児の24%がスマホで何かを見たり、触ったりしている。これを多いと見るか少ないと見るか。。。

感覚的には親世代の殆どはスマホをもっているだろうから、見せようと思えばほとんどの過程でスマホを乳児に見せることはできる気がする。でもそれが24%、２才児で46%ということは、、、単純にすべての子供がそういうものが好きだというわけではないということか。それとも、楽しいことが多すぎて特にスマホは必要としていないということなのか。それとも、やはり我々の時代親がテレビを子供に見せるのを嫌がったように、いや子供にスマホを見せてはいけない！という教育方針になっているのか。

なんか2才児とかを前に、教育上良くないからと必死に目の前でスマホを使わないようにしている両親とかを想像すると、デバイス廃人の僕からするとかなりの重荷に聞こえてしまう。いや、そもそも子供がいないのでまだ考える必要は無いんだけど。いやいや、羨ましい。

I have one YouTube channel which I recently follow and am looking forward to the new upload every time. It shows a family life with 2 year old girl and her elder sisters. It makes me feel so peaceful to see the dairy life like the eldest 18 year old sister takes the girl to her school. What I recognized when i was watching the video was the girl called the word (Name) "Anpan-man" quite often. The pronunciation is not clear and it is very cute too. 

Anpan-man is the legendary anime character which is always ranked top in 0 y.o. to 2 y.o. favorite character for really long time (BANDAI CO., LTD., 2018). Why are little babies like Anpan-man that much?
By the way, according to DO!SOLUTIONS(2021), what is necessary for Anpan-man life for parents is smartphone. Actually I often see parents give their smartphone to a baby to show Anpan-man in the train to let them keep quiet... Um, the first time i got smartphone was when I was mid 30s. I'm jealous of babies for being able to enjoy smartphone when they are young.

DO!SOLUTIONS（2021）also shows the device usage by age (The chart above). 24% of 0 y.o. Japanese babies watch something on smartphone, believe or not. Do you think it is less or more than you expected?

Roughly speaking most of parents have smartphones. So most of babies would have opportunity to touch to it. But the ration is 24% in new born babies and 46% in 2 y.o. babies. I somehow feel that it is not as high as I expected.  Maybe not all babies do not like Anpan-man (Well smartphone)? Or they have so many other fun things to do? Or parental control which parents do not want their babies to touch smartphones like my parents did for watching TV??

Imagining that parents try not to use smartphone in front of their kids for educational purpose, it sounds a bit too much to me who are a digital geek. Well I don't have a kid though… Anyway I'm jealous of babies. Hahaha.
