#33 勉強は嫌いでした (Did you like study?)

10月18日は統計の日、だったようです。。。数字でご飯を食べさせていただいて、なおかつこんな冗談のようなエッセイにも統計を活用させていただいているのに、全く知らなかった（感謝の気持が足りなすぎる）。本来足を向けては寝られない（？）立場なので何か貢献できることを考えよう。

とはいえ、急に「統計の伝道師になろう」みたいな真面目方面はちょっと荷が重い。統計とはみたいなことを僕が話そうとしても、信憑性と説得力が足りなすぎる。そもそもそういえば、学生のときには僕は勉強が嫌いだったのだった。数学はそのなかでも特に苦手の科目だったような。。。何を間違えてこんな仕事を？

いやいや、違う違う。学生時代はほとんどの人が勉強嫌いだったはず！（強い調子で）。上のグラフはLineリサーチが2021年に高校生に対して勉強が好きか、そしてどの科目が好きかを聞いた調査から抜粋しています。勉強好きではないと答えた人は約67%、そうでしょうそうでしょう（ホッ）。

そしてなんと数学は、女性で5位、男性で1位！！そう、数字って意外と楽しいよ！学生時代は嫌いだったのにドヤる。。。いやなぜか学生時代は数学なんて将来何に使うんだろう？と思っていたのだが、まさかこんなに使うものだったとは。

でも自分がこのアンケートに高校生時代に答えていたら俄然、体育だったろうな。ジンセイワカラナイモンデスネ（外国人風）。

It seems 18th Oct was the day of statistics... Although I get my salary from stats and I'm using data in funny way like this essay, I didn't know about it at all. I think I should show my appreciation more to statistics. Let me think what I can contribute to it. 

Well I think it is to much to suddenly be so serious and say "I'll be an evangelist of statistics". I don't think my skill and background is not enough to talk about "nature of stats". Speaking of it, actually I hated to study when I was a student. Also I was particularly bad at Math and Statistics. Why did I choose this job?? (Who knows)

Noooo, I don't think that is the issue only to me. I'm sure most of people didn't like studying when they are students. (Too Biased). The chart above refers to Like research (2021) to show if do recent high school students like study, and  which study do they like. Around 67% of students answered that they don't like studying... (relieved). Yes it should be like this, Hahaha.

Also yes!, math is ranked in 5th for female and 1st for male!! You would be surprised but it is actually fun to study math & stats! Of course, it shouldn't be the words from a person who hated it (Me). Honestly I wondered who actually use math in the future and I didn't expect that I would use it this much...

If I answered to this survey when I was a student, my answer would be "sports" which is ranked in 2nd for both female and male. Yes I can not agree more. You never know what happens to your life. Hahahaha.
