#85 10歳で両親を超えていく (You 10 y.o kids do better than you).

日本に2ヶ月帰っていて、思ったよりも現金を使わずに済んだという話を以前ちょっとだけしました（こちら）。同じようなトピックでTwitterを検索していたら、「Suicaで買い物をするのに、現金じゃないとチャージできないの？」みたいなツイートも見かけました。「モバイルスイカデクレジットカードトウロク」したり「ラクテンペイノモバイルスイカ」使えばいいのに、とか思ったりしては多分いけないのです。初老の人間からするとお願い許してという感じです。

だんだん便利に生きていくにはIT知識とスキルが必須になってきていて、ひょっとしたらもうダメかもしれないと、思う日も良くあるのです。そしてそんな大人の危機感がやたらと現れている調査を見つけて、そうだよなぁと思ったりしていたのです。

ベビカム株式会社は2022年の調査で子供を持つ親に対して、「子供が自分のデジタルスキルを追い越すのは何歳だと思いますか」と聞いた答えが上のグラフになります。約43％の両親が10歳までに抜かされると答えています。10歳というと、、、小学4年生？（記憶が定かでない）。これはこれは。過去に40%もの親が小学校4年生までに子供に抜かされる！って思うスキルがあったでしょうか（もちろん定かではない）？かけっこ？算数？多分40%っていうことはなさそうですよね。。。たぶん。

絶対追い越されないと答えた猛者は5%、すごい。毎日進化している技術なのでよく勉強しているんだろうな。。。そして3歳以下で抜かれると答えた方も2%。いやいや、普通にベビーカーの中でタブレット使っている子供とか見ますもんね。。。自分が10歳の頃と言うと、まだ携帯電話を持っている人は周りにはいなかった。ゲームでいうと初期のファミリーコンピューターで、ドラクエ３とかを友だちの家でやっていたくらいか。。。この頃で何か両親を追い越すスキルを持っていたとは思えない。今の10歳すごい。

When I was in Japan for 2 months, I didn't use cash as much as I expected (Please read the previous article). When I searched for those topics, I saw some tweet like "Why do I have to bring cash to top up Suica (E-money)". Please don't say "Why not using online credit card registration" or "Rakuten Pay mobile Suica helps". For those who can not catch up with recent technology information, those words are as unknown as foreign language… Well from a aged person like me, its so difficult to know what's going on.

To live convenient life, you must have updated IT knowledge and skills. I often feel that I might have to give it up… Then now I found a survey which shows how adults in Japan are scared of it and I can not agree more…

Babycome, inc. (2022) above shows how much of parents think when their kids will have better it skill than yourself. Around 43% of parents answered that kids skill would become better that parents by 10 y.o.. 10 y.o. means 4th grade of Japanese elementary school (If I remember correctly). I see, I see… That is surprising! Can you think of any other skill that 40% of parents think that their kids will be better by 10? Running? Math? Probably less than 40% I think… (Hopefully).

Only 5% think that it will never happen. So confident. This area improves day by day so I think they study a lot to catch up. Also 3% consider that even 3 y.o. baby can be better… Honestly I sometimes feel that when I see a baby in a baby car using a tablet… When I was 10 year old, computer around me was maybe NES (Nintendo) to play dragon worrier 3. I don't think I had any skills that are better than my parents. Recent 10 y.o. kids are awesome…
