#31 野球選手の引退後（What do you do after retiring a baseball player）

松坂選手が引退会見を行い、松坂選手の正確な情報が流れたことで自分が松坂世代では無いことに気がついてしまいました。。。ざっくりその辺で生まれた人を呼ぶのかと思っていたら、80年生まれの人という定義があった様子です。そうしてよく考えたら自分以外の人に松坂世代と呼ばれたことももちろん無い。

引退会見をされたといってもまだまだ41歳。サラリーマンであれば中堅として油がのって、会社を動かす原動力となる世代。それが引退選手として扱われてしまうのがスポーツの世界。厳しい世界にいて、犬が１年で７歳年を取るように（？）、スポーツ選手は多分１年で２歳くらい年を取って、すごいスピードで大人になって行くのかもしれない。

上記の表はNPBが2016年から2020年の引退、戦力外選手合計647人がその後選択した道を調査したものです。シンプルに引退後何をしているんだろうと興味を持ったのですが、やはり調べてありました。

一番多いのは25%の球団職員・スタッフ。選手として活躍した後は球団スタッフとして！素敵ですね。なんだかんだ野球関連のしている方が合計で74%なのも野球というスポーツの懐の深さが感じられなくもない。

そしてマイナーなところで他競技転向という方が5年で二人。何をしているんだろう。気になる。投げるつながりで砲丸投げ（そんなはずない）とかだったら面白い。一方未定・不明11%に若干の闇を感じていたりもする。明かせない職業についた人が11%。どこかで地球を守る秘密結社とかに就職して、人知れず地球の平和を守っていたりはしないだろうか。

Daisuke Matsuzaka a famous baseball player decided to get retired recently. Because of it, there are a lot of information about him on media and I finally found that I'm not Matsuzaka-generation. Baseball players in his generation are call "Matsuzaka-generation" which is know as so many talented players. The word is now used even out of baseball players but I found that this word is to describe a person who are born on 1980 particularly. I thought I was...

Well He is still 41 years old. If you are employed, 41y.o is considered to be leading generation in the company. How ever in professional sports, you are considered to be a retired person. Maybe sports player's grown up old twice faster that normal people due to its competitive environment. 

NPB(2021) researched what people who got retired from professional baseball player do. Above chart is the summary of 647 retired from 2016 to 2020. 

The top job is the staff of the baseball professional team. It sounds great to me that they are involved in NPB even after retiring. Anyway around 74% of them work in baseball related area. It shows that baseball in Japan is diverse and popular enough to let them work in the area they are interested in.

I'm actually interested in minor part in the table above. 2 people in 5 years has gone to play different sports. What do they do now. I'm wondering if the play something totally different or somehow related area like ... the shop-put ( I don't think they do). Also 11% of people are unknown. 11% can not disclose their job... (I guess too wild). It would be fun if they joined to the secret society which actually work hard to bring peace to the world. No wonder they can not disclose their job...
