#131 経営者は不安でいっぱい?(It is tough to be a business owner)

シンガポールで経営者的な立場になって約10年が経過しようとしてます。10年。シンガポールに来たときには30代中盤だったもよう。そのあたりで採用した20代選手も今では立派なベテラン中核選手。長く一緒に居ていただいていて本当にありがとうございます(深々とお辞儀)

なんとか生き残っているものの、最初は2期赤字だったのでそもそもご飯が食べて行けるかの心配からスタート。社員のみなさんに給与が払えなくなるという夢を何度かみたことを思い出します(遠い目)いや、子会社なので、親会社から借金するという手はありましたが、オーナーの皆さんはもっと不安なんだろうなぁ。そうでもないのかな?

上記は株式会社DESKが2022年最近に出した経営者500人ほどに聞いた調査結果のようです。左のグラフが経営状況に関するざっくりとした不安なのですが、なんと意外と不安な人が少ない。。。というか約31%ほどの「不安ではない」と答えた鉄人の方々がいます。恐るべし。10年目にして未だに毎日不安な自分は43%と半数以下のグループ。いやいやなるほど。世の中の社長は全員不安だと思ってたけれど、完全に勘違いだった様子。

ちなみに右のグラフは現在抱えている経営課題は何かという質問のこたえなのですが、特に問題ないと答えた猛者が11%。すごすぎる。個人的には「ブランド力」を重要な課題と答えた人が4%しかいないことも面白いなと思ったりする。ブランド力に自信がある経営者が多いのか、それともそれがトップ3の課題に入らないくらい他の課題が大きいのか。。。経営者恐るべし。

Although I managed to survive as a company manager, I still remember clearly that I worried so much about my business in Singapore. My first 2 terms are profit negative. I dreamed few times that I couldn't pay to my members. Actually I have a HQ company in Japan so i could possible get loan from HQ. So it was not as serious as other business owners. But I guess those who own/run business are so worried about their future and business… No?

Above is the data from DESK Inc. (2022) , survey result from 500 of business owners, entrepreneurs. The left is "How many of owners are emotionally worried about the future of their business". I was so surprised but only 48% (red part) are worried about it like myself. LESS THAN HALF!!! There are 31% of iron men (Green) who actually say they don't have any concerns. What going on with them or … what's wrong with me… I honestly thought that all business managers are in anxiety everyday. But it seems it was totally my misunderstanding!

By the way, the right chart shows what are your current priority issues. Then 11% think that they don't have any issues. How they can be so confident! How I can be like them.
Personally I'm interested in the fact that there are only 4% of people who listed "Brand power" as an issue. I'm wondering if it is because most of them are confident about their brand or other issues are too big that "brand power" is not pointed as important. Anyway business owners are much more confident that I thought they are. Awesome!
