#54 ツイートを分析してみた 1 (Tried to analyze tweet data).

ツイッターでアカウントを持っています。まだ慣れずにあまりコメントできていませんが、ぜひ登録してみてください (リンクはここです)。
さて、ツイッターを始めた理由というと、分析をやってみたかったからということになります。YAHOOにて東京大学の鳥海教授という方が定期的に記事を書かれており、それを読み実際やってみようとしたらどうなるのかということで、自分のスキルアップも兼ねてやってみようと（安易）。教授の記事を読むと過去のデータや、分析の積み重ねが無いとできないことも多かったので、もうちょっと基礎編から。いやいや、大変かもしれないと思っていましたが、、、大変でした（やっぱり）。少しずつ何をしたかも書いて行こうかと思いますが今日は前段だけ。

そもそも、あまり良くツイートのことを知らなかったので、まずは昔作っただけで使っていなかったアカウントに色々とランダムにアカウントを登録したり、検索をしてみました、2020年のことです。いやいや、有名人の方のアカウントをフォローしてその凄さというか、怖さにビックリして早くも心が折れかけました。一方なんとなく「ファブリーズ」って検索したら、除霊に使われている（？）方がいっぱい出てきたりもしました。日本人凄い。分析のためにちゃんと読んでいたら、メンタルがやられそうです。。。

アライドアーキテクツ株式会社の2021年のレポートによるとツイッターの月間の使用者数は4500万人とのこと。その大人数が何のためにツイッターを使っているのかを示したものが上のグラフになるようです。趣味や好きなことの情報収集にが63%で2位。なんとなく好きな芸能人の方をフォローしたりとか、そういう使われ方がほとんどなのかと思っていましたが、1位は暇つぶしでした。まあ、そうですよね。僕も分析のためにと思って始めたのに今では１日１時間はなんということもなくツイッターを開いているような気がしますし。。。

こう見るとツイッターにもまだまだ僕の知らない使い方がありそうなので、もう少し勉強しないとだめかも。一度シンガポールのニュースのアカウントをフォローしたら、タイムラインがそのサイトだらけになって、慌てて消した記憶があります。みなさんどうやってその選択をしているんだろう。

そして、ツイッターでまだあまり既知の友人とつながってないので、そういう会話もまだほとんどしたことないですね。でも他の人のやり取りをみていると、友達同士の会話を覗き見しているような気持ちになることありますもんね。あー、ツイッターはその覗き見感を今は楽しんでいるような気がする。いいのかそれは？

Please follow my twitter account although I’m not used to the platform yet (My account).
Well the reason why I have started twitter is that I wanted to analyze tweet data (Weird?). I read few articles written by professor Torikai in Yahoo articles and I wanted to follow what he has done. It also helps me improving my analytics skill (Hopefully). Since the analysis by the professor requires long historical data and experience of past data analysis, I will start from something a bit smaller… I kind of expected that it would be tough but it was way tougher than I expected. I’ll write about the process separately.

Anyway I didn’t know well about twitter. So I started following celebrities accounts and searched for random words with the account which I have created long before but hadn’t used for a long time. I was surprised or I would say scared of comments and about to stop this challenge. On the other hand, when I searched for the word “FEBREZE”, I found that many people used it for Exorcism (Believe or not). Japanese are awesome!

Allied Architects, Inc. (2021) reports that twitter monthly active user in Japan is around 45 million. Also the chart above is to show the purpose of using twitter. Checking/collecting information for things you like gets 63% and ranked as 2nd. I actually thought that people use twitter to follow their favorite celebrities, so this could be the top reason. However the top 1 is to kill time… Yep, it should be. Even me originally started twitter for data analysis, currently browsing twitter for almost one hour per day without particular reasons.

Having look at the chart, there are many interesting usage of twitter which I don’t know about. I should study more about it. Once I followed a Singapore new site, my timeline was filled with the tweets from the site and I unfollowed the site soon. How everybody use twitter to follow news sites?

Also I’m still not connected with my friends. So I have never enjoyed conversation with my friends on twitter yet. Yes, having a look at twitter gives me feeling that I’m listening in somebody’s conversation. Also that is how I currently enjoy twitter. Is it the correct way of using twitter?
