#122 いつかプログラミングをやりたいと思っている! (You will not start learning programing if you don't start now)

規制が緩和されていろいろな人と話すようになったせいか、こうやったブログを書いているせいなのか、最近、プログラミングをやりたいのだけれど、何から始めればよいの？どれくらいかかって覚えたの？などと聞かれることが増えた気がします（気のせいかもしれません）。僕が普段聞いているポッドキャストでも、そういうことがトピックに上がることがあります。世の中プログラミングをやりたいという人がどんどん増えているらしいです（定かではない）。

現役エンジニアの皆さんはそんなとき「何がやりたいの？」と聞くのだそうです。何がやりたいのかが分かれば、何を教えれば良いかがわかるからだそうです。確かに。いや、、どうだ、みなさんはこれがやりたい！って思ってプログラム始めたのかしら。僕の出だしは、、、配属されたところで使うものを勉強したという感じでした（すみません）。とうか、そもそもプログラムを知らないと何ができるかもよくわからないし（言い訳２）。いや、そもそも本当に勉強したいという人ってそんなに沢山いるのかしら？

PS-One(2021)の調査（左のグラフ）によると、約９割以上の人が今後プログラミングを覚えたいと答えているらしい。いや、、、これはどうだ？機会があったら覚えたいという人が約60％。。。ダイエット理論（謎）に基づくとこれはいつかやるといってやらない人ではないかい？いずれ絶対という13%もちょっと怪しい。なんかこれ、だいたいの勉強でこんな数字になるような気もしないでもない（偏見）。

ちなみに株式会社SAMURAIは2019年に実際に勉強を挫折した人々にその理由を聞いているのですが、それは首がもげそうなほど頷きました。特に赤く色付けした2つは、今も何かを始めようとするたびに心が折れそうになる原因達です。いやー、なぞのエラーが出て解決に2日かかったとか、ライブラリーインストールしたはずなのにエラーで動かなくてとか本当に困る。困っている！いやいや。横に質問をしたらなんでも答えてくれる先輩がいた新人時代が懐かしい。いやー、いいメンターさんだったな（しみじみ）。

For some reasons I'm frequently asked "How can I start learning programing?" or "How long did it take?", maybe simply because I talk with people more often than pandemic period, or I write related blog. It is also mentioned in the podcast program which I listen to often. It seem people want to study programing more than before (Not certain…).

IT engineers then reply that "What you want to do?". Once they know what people actually want to do, they can tell what is the best to learn. Sure. No not. Well do every engineer start with the very particular intention to do by using programing?? For my case, I just leant things I needed when I was in engineer department (Sorry). To know what you want to do, I guess you have to understand programing (No?). Well is there really that many people who want to learn programing??

PS-One(2021) report (the left chart) shows that more than 90% of people in Japan actually said that they want to learn programing. Wait. Wait a moment. there are around 14% who said in the future, and around 60% of "If I have a chance"… According to my "start exercising theory"(Mysterious), people never start when they say some day Lol. I also personally assume that most of the study would show the similar tendency… Its human nature.

By the way, Samurai in 2019 asked "why did you give up learning programing" to those who actually gave up. Honestly I can not agree more for some of the options on the right chart. Especially, those highlighted in red, "unknow errors" and "development environment" are challenging to me very often even know. It takes me more than 2 days to solve random errors like I install a library successfully but shows a error and it doesn't work. Then found that the library requires install options to match with other libraries, for example (Such a mysterious sentence). I miss the days that I had my mentor sitting next to me and answered to most of the questions quickly when I was new graduate… I feel that he was such a good mentor even after 20 years.
