#36 服をあまり買わなくなったのか、買う服が安くなったのか (Average cloth expenditure declined in a long run)

日本では、秋も短く早々にみなさま衣替えをしたと聞きます。シンガポールにいると、日本の皆様の感覚でいうと一年中夏ではあるので、衣は替えないのです。日本で働いていたときと比べると洋服にかけるお金は非常に少なくなったような気がします。もちろん「今年のトレンド」から外れてて恥ずかしい、みたいな話もあまりないような気がします（アンテナが低いため情報の信頼度は低い）

ちなみに衣替えをしないシンガポールでもユニクロなどではこの時期になると、なぜか衣が替わります。ダウンジャケットとかが売られ始めるのです。そして今年も売られ始めました。なんでだろう。旅行も行けないのに。今度お店の前にしばらく立ってみて買う人がいるのか観察してみます。

コロナといえば、家を出なくなればみんな洋服を買わなかったんじゃなかろうか？と総務省家計調査(2021）を見てみた結果が上のグラフになります。前年2019年と比べると2020年は約80%と大きく落ち込んでいます。ですよね。平均金額としては約37,000円くらいということなのですが、この数字は単身世帯も家族世帯も、沖縄の人も、北海道の人も、おしゃれな人も、おしゃれじゃない人も含まれているのでこの際あまり気にしないようにします。

一方長いトレンドでみるとコロナ以前の4年間はほとんど、変わっていないですが、2016年は前年と比べて9%のマイナス。何があったんだろう。2016年。。。ピコ太郎さんの「PPAP」が世界的なヒット。いや、むしろゴージャスな洋服の売れ行きが上がりそう（そんなことはない）。ポケモンGO！いやいや洋服の売れ行きとはやはり関係なさそう。

調べないで想像（妄想）するというブログの趣旨から、調べてはいないのですが、そもそも5年前ともなるとほぼ記憶が薄れていて状況を想像するのも難しくなっている。。。それにしても2000年と比べると約半額ですね、怖い怖い。

I heard that people in Tokyo has done their "Cloth change". In winter, they unpack their winter close and pack their summer cloth for example. Being in Singapore, we never change cloth in that way... Compared with living in Tokyo, I think my expenditure for cloth is much lesser. Also I'm not as fashionable person as normal Japanese people, so I don't regularly add cloth too (aging). 

Interestingly, even though we don't have winter in Singapore, Uniqlo for example still "change cloth" and sell winter cloth in Singapore. They display down jacket even this year when we can not travel overseas. I'm wondering who actually buy them. Maybe I will stand in the store to see if any people buys them. At least I have never see people who wear down jacket outside.

I was also wondering this pandemic caused people not buying cloth as much as before? Statistics Bureau(2021) shows that 2020 cloth expense per household declined by 20% vs 2019. No surprise. We went out less so needs for cloth would be lesser. Hope its just I'm to lazy to buy cloth... Average expense per household seems to be around 37,000JPY in 2020. However this number doesn't have much implication since this figure includes people from both single and family, cold area like Hokkaido and warm area, fashionable people and not (Me)... So I don't care this figure too much for this article.

In a long trend, while the expense didn't change from 2016 to 2019 that much, there is a huge drop from 2015 to 2016 around 9%. Ummm What happened in 2016. What I can think of in 2016. "PPAP" dance buzzed all around the world?? Well It may encourage people to buy gorgeous golden jacket (of course not). Pokemon GO??  No. I don't see any relation with drop of cloth expense.

Policy of this blog which I guess without having a research, I didn't check any but 5 years are too long to recall what happened. I lost my memory (Aging again). By the way, the expense dropped almost to half from 2020... That sounds a bit scary to me. Half...
