#69 東京はレストランだらけ (So many restaurants in Tokyo)

隔離が明け、いろいろと出歩くようになるとやはり目につくのは飲食店です（よね？？）。東京にくる楽しみに一つでももちろんあります（みなさんもそうですよね？）。ちょっと歩いただけで美味しそうな看板にたくさん出会います。シンガポールも飲食店数は多いイメージですが、ホーカーやショッピングモールもしくは特定のストリートという感じであるところに固まっているという状況で、ふらっと歩いているといろいろなお店にぶつかる東京はまた別の楽しみがあるなと感じています。

現在東京都も自主規制下で、営業をしていないお店も多く、夜も早くしまってしまうところが多いので、まずは朝早く仕事を初めて、お店に間に合うように早く仕事を終る！っと言ってしまいたいところではあるのですが、それでは規制が本末転倒になってしまうので、早く感染が落ち着いて、気持ちよく食べれるようになってほしいところ。僕の日本滞在中に可能になるかどうか。。。なってほしい（切実）。

東京が飲食店数ではやはり一位のようですが、上記のようなふらっと歩いているとお店が見つかるという楽しみは、面積あたりの飲食数を計算してみれば出るんじゃないかと思って（単純すぎる）計算してみた結果が上のグラフになります（飲食店数：経済産業省-飲食店/事業所数　2016年）。まあ、よく考えてみると公平な指標ではないく。北海道みたいに畑などの多い広大な土地だと当然順位が下がってしまうので、本当は都市別にできるとよかったですね。

さて、やっぱり東京が一位ではありましたが、グラフを見ると東京、大阪、神奈川が圧勝でそこから先は緩やかに下っていくというグラフになりました。東京、大阪と両方とも面積の小さい都府ですが、結構差があるんだなぁ、東京はやっぱり多いんだなぁ。神奈川県と東京都でも２倍以上の差。やはり通勤で東京に来る人のお腹も満たさないと行けないみたいな感じなのか。でもそこは大阪も変わらない気もする。自炊が少ないみたいなこともあったりするのでしょうか（？）。いやシンプルに人口が多いだけかも。

なにしろここから一ヶ月半、ここまで隔離生活でのダイエットで減らした体重をきっちりと戻していきたいと（？）思います。楽しみ。

I'm free from quarantine. What you want after quarantine I believe is good food (don't you?). Especially when you are in Tokyo (Everybody agrees I think??). Just walk around your hotel, and you will come across to many "Good looking" restaurant soon. What's interesting in Tokyo is that restaurants are everywhere. In Singapore, I also see many good restaurant but they are mainly in commercial area. In Tokyo, you will find them in the area where you don't expect there is. This less organized atmosphere is an interesting point in Tokyo.

In a mean time, Tokyo is under tightened regulation for COVID and most of restaurants close at 9pm. Honestly I want to say "OK! I start working early and finish early to enjoy dining in!!". But it doesn't make sense considering of the government policy… So what I can do is hoping that this situation is getting better soon. Will it happen till I leave Japan on March??? 

In terms of # of restaurants, no doubt Tokyo is the top. But I thought that "coming across to good restaurant" type of fun could be measured by calculating # of restaurants per km2 (Too simple), and I tried to get it referring to Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (2016) industry survey stats. Well, of course, this is not the fare comparison at all. Hokkaido for example is just the way too big and there are many huge farms where nobody lives. It would be interesting if I can do this by city.

Not surprisingly, Tokyo is the top. There is huge gap between Tokyo and Osaka and between top 3 and others. Um, Yes Tokyo market is huge. Even Tokyo is more than double against 3rd prefecture Kanagawa. Is that because of population commute to Tokyo from peripheral area? It should be the same for Osaka… Less people cook in Tokyo? (Less likely…). Maybe simply its the population gap. 

Anyway i saved calorie intaking during quarantine to be prepared for dining in in Tokyo. My days in Tokyo have just started (Excited).
