#21 冷凍寿司? (Frozen Sushi?)

明日が地球最後の日だったら今日何を食べるか？いままで何度聞かれたかわからない質問ですが、これは一般的なのかしら。もうためらいなく「餃子」です。焼き餃子、海外（シンガポール）にいても冷凍で手に入り、食卓にはもう頻出しています。味の素さんには本当に足を向けて寝られません。本当にありがとうございます。（最敬礼中）

シンガポールでは他にも韓国ブランドの冷凍餃子も多く発売されており、種類も多く非常に美味しいです。フライパンに並べて焼くだけの便利な冷凍食品ですが、他にも唐揚げなどいくつかの日本のブランドは、スーパーで見つけることができます。これって東南アジアだと、他の国でも同じような状態なのだろうか。

上記のグラフはASMARQ社が2021年にタイで「日本食の冷凍食品で購入したことをあるもの」に関してのデータを公開しています。1位には餃子（何故か誇らしい）、ですよね、ですよね、日本の餃子って美味しいですよね、ね。すみません、ちょっとテンションが上りすぎました。タイの家庭でフライパンで焼かれてあの匂いが部屋に充満していると思うとたまりません。

餃子に続いて、テリヤキチキン、チャーハン、寿司、デザート。寿司が4位。冷凍食品。いやいや、これは日本から離れすぎて完全にスシテック （寿司テクノロジー）においていかれている。おー、世の中ではすでに冷凍食品の寿司が発売されているのか？？タイ人の約三分の一の対象者が買ったことがあると答えるくらいまで。

どうやって解凍するのだろう。レンジでチンしてちょっとホクホクの寿司。それは美味しそう。ちょっと時間を間違えると熱々の寿司になる危険あり。もしくはお湯に入れて解凍？あ、まさかの米と刺し身部分の分離制で別々に解凍？？これは正体を知らないほうが想像力が膨らむ案件ですね。シンガポールでも探してみよう。そうしよう。

Has anybody been asked "what would you eat, if today is your last day" question before? Is it a general question? My answer is always the same,  dumpling! Fried dumpling!! It shows up for my lunch/dinner frequently even if I'm in Singapore thanks to Ajinomoto (REALLY appreciate for it). Its frozen gyoza always contribute to increase my quality of life. 

I can find few more brand in Singapore supermarket like Korean brands. They have variety of flavors and taste good too! Those are basically frozen products and I can find many other Japanese frozen brand in Singapore like Karaage (Fried Chicken). Is it similar in other Asian countries?

The chart above shows the result of "What Japanese Frozen food have you bought?" question in Thailand (ASMARQ, 2021). Top food is ... Fried Dumpling! I'm so proud of it (Why?). Yes, I can not agree more. I love fried dumpling too, my Thai friends!! Ups I am too much excited.

2nd is Teriyaki Chicken followed by Fried rice and Sushi, dessert. Sushi in 4th place. Frozen Japanese food. Frozen Sushi?? Ummm I guess I'm away from Japan for too long and haven't caught up with the Sushi-tech (Sushi related technology...). Ohhhh is there frozen sushi in the world? Around 1/3 of people have bought it in Thailand before?? That is surprising.

How do you defrost it?? Piping hot sushi with microwave sounds interesting and tasty. Don't make mistake it will turn to too hot suchi. Dangerous. Maybe soak into warm water? Oh maybe they are packed separately with rice and sashimi. Well, imagination goes wild if you don't know about it. Yes, I'm not going to google it till I find it at supermarket...
