#18 クイックルの日だから、世界のお掃除事情 (Being creative with world house cleaning survey)

9月19日はクイックルの日。「ク（9）イ（1）ック（9）ル」、そうダジャレでございます。

クイックルの日だから○○をしよう。と言われると○○に入れる言葉にはちょっと困ったことになります。「クイックルの日だから、大掃除をしよう！」いや、それは年末かな。「クイックルの日だから部屋の掃除をしよう！」いや、それはもう少し頻繁にやってもらいたい。「クイックルの日だから、世界のお掃除の調査結果を読んでみよう！」ま、これならいいかも（無理矢理がすぎる）。

上のグラフはドイツのお掃除器具会社ケルヒャーが2019に複数カ国で行ったお掃除に関する調査のなかから、「一週間にお掃除に使う時間」の質問の結果です。そう日本人は他の国と比べて部屋が汚い、、、訳ではないですよね。いや、ロシアやポーランドのお家に入ったことはないですが、ひょっとしたらどこも眩しいくらいピカピカなのか？？

日本が一番掃除の時間が少ないと言われると、想像力（妄想力）がまた爆発します。日本は靴を脱いで家に入るから、掃除に時間がかからない説はどうだろう。日本人は比較的小さめだから、狭いところの掃除に小回りが効いて早いとか（そんなはずはない）。ロシアのお家がものすごく大きい！というのはひょっとしたらあるかもしれない（見たことない）。

同じ調査のなかでは、世界中どこの国でも女性の掃除時間のほうが、男性よりも多かったと書かれていたのを見て、世界中女性の家は男性の家よりきれいなんだなぁ、そうだよなぁ、と思ったりはしました。いろいろな意味でごめんなさい。

Sep 19 is the day of Quickle set by a private company Kao. (Quickle is a brand name of house cleaning wipe). 9 is pronounced "Qu" in Japanese and 1 is "i" and 9 is "Qu" again. So obviously 9.19 is Quickle day...

 I personally think it is a bit difficult to say "lets do something since it is the day of Quickle". "Lets have spring cleaning since it is Quickle day!" Well basically it is the year end annual event for most of Japanese. "Lets clean up your house since it is Quickle day!" Ummm, I really want you to do that more than once a year... Lets read an article about world's house cleaning since it is Quickle day! Oh, it makes sense! (Of course not).

Kärcher(2019) compares the result of "How long do you spend for house cleaning per week" by country. Obviously Japanese are not as hygienic as Russian. Maybe not as simple as that. Or houses in Russia and Poland are exceptionally nicely cleaned up. I haven't been there so it maybe is the truth.

This chart stimulate my imagination on what's the reasons behind. Let me "make" some stories. First of all, Japanese put off shoes at the entrance so it is easy to clean up a house. Secondly, Japanese moves very fast in house so they finish cleaning faster. Not so reasonable. I have never seen but houses in Russia can be three times as big as in Japan. (Can be!).

What I felt sorry about the referred article (Kärcher(2019)) is "In all countries, females spend longer time for house cleaning than males". I assume basically most of females' room is much cleaner than males (Wrong in many meaning). So sorry about that.
