#6 冷やし中華が終わりかけている (End of Hiyashi-chuka)

夏を告げてくれる食べ物というか、夏の始まりを告げてくれるフレーズ「冷やし中華始めました」。考えてみれば一度も食べていない年もあるが、なぜかそれがないと夏が始まらないという気がしているもの、それが冷やし中華。年中夏のシンガポールでも日本の夏の時期になると、和食屋さんで見かけるフレーズ「冷やし中華始めました」。日本三大「始めました」（妄想）「Youtube 始めました」「時効警察はじめました」の中でも、ダントツの歴史を誇る「冷やし中華始めました」。これからも夏が来るたびに必ず始まるであろう冷やし中華は、いつ終わっているのだろうか？

というわけでなんとなくGoogle trendで「冷やし中華」を検索してみた（なんで？）。冷やし中華は、、、毎年終わっているようにも見えなくもない。ひょっとして、僕が気が付かなかっただけでお店ではひっそり「冷やし中華終わりました」というフレーズが出回っているのだろうか。そしてより大事なことであるが、今年の冷やし中華が「終わりかけ」ている（2021/8/21 時点）。あー、終わらないでほしい。いや来年また来ることは分かっていても、「終わりかけている」と言われると、引退間際のスポーツ選手を応援するような、涙なしには見れない雰囲気になってしまう。いやでも「冷やし中華」は何度も引退と報道されながらも不死鳥のように蘇るのである。がんばれ冷やし中華。

All Japanese is familer with the phrase "We started serving Hiyashi-chuka" which tells you that summer has come. (Hiyashi-chuka is the dry noodle which you normally eat with dipping in cold soup.) It is not that I eat every summer but I somehow think that summer won't start without eating it. Even in Singapore which all year summer country from Japanese point of view, you come across to this phrase in Japanese restaurant at the season of Japanese summer. In my personal top 3 "Start" ranking (stupid), "I started YouTube", "Jikokeisatsu has started(Japanese drama)", "Hiyashi-chuka" has the longest history(?) While we definitely see the start every year, I am wondering when it actually ends?

So I tried to search the word "Hiyashi-chuka" in google trend. It seems it ends, well maybe. In this case, I have never recognized it but maybe people are familiar with the phrase "We have finished Hiyashi-chuka"? Anybody?
 Also more importantly, Hiyashi-chuka in this year is coming to its end now(Google trend 21/8/2021). Oh, please do not. Yes I know that it will come next year again but when you say it is finishing I feel like watching the retirement of sport players and it brings tears to me. No worries people, even if everybody says it's time to retire, it comes back and shows us the fighting pose again. Go Hiyashi-chuka, Go!
