#181 月曜・金曜は出社したくない (I want to work from home on Monday and Friday!)

前回のワールドカップドイツ戦の翌日に、会社は休みにならないのかと、会社のグループチャットが盛り上がっていたのから一転して、静かな月曜日の出だしとなりました。。。ニュースによると視聴率は関東で42.9%だったらしいですよ。ということはテレビをつけている世帯に絞ったら70-80%近くになるかもですね。スゴっ。ほとんどの人が日本戦見てる。まだまだ日本代表には頑張って欲しいですね。

そして地味に最近月曜日に気がつくことがあります。ランチ時間が空いている。。。（シンガポールの話です）お店とか、ホーカーとかでの列が短いとか。いや、そもそもオフィス街の人口が少ない気がするんですよね。いやこれは、、、シンガポールが週休3日になった可能性が！（そんなはずない）

ちょっとした仮説をシンガポールメンバーと話していたのですが、日本はどうなのかと調べてみました。株式会社アスマーク(2022)の調査によると、在宅の仕組みがある会社の社員のうち、そもそも在宅仕事の日を自分で選べる人は83%のようです。ほとんどの人が在宅の日を自分で選べる、いや選べない人が17%もいる？会社からこの日は在宅していいよって決められているっていうことですね。まあ、そういうこともあるか。

ちなみに右のグラフが、実際の在宅勤務をしている日（赤）と本当は在宅したいと思っている日（黄）を示しています。あ、なるほど。みんな、月曜日と金曜日に在宅したい（笑）まあ、そうですよね。なんとなく気持ちはわかります、週末を伸ばしたい願望。。。そして実際は水曜日が一番多いのか。一日真ん中に通勤しない日を入れると楽なのかしら。それも分かる気がする。なんとなく、月・金は露骨すぎて遠慮しちゃっているかもしれないというのも日本人の奥ゆかしさ（？）がでていて好きではある。ははははは。

While our company chat was filled with so many requests on making a new company holiday after the world cup Japan win over Germany, the start of this week was really quiet… According to news articles viewing rate of the Costa Rica match was 42.9%. It means almost 70-80% who watched TV at the time watched the world cup. It if awesome. Almost all!! It was the sad result but we still have a little hope for the game vs Spain… (Tough)

I recently have a strange feeling on Monday. That is… lunch places like restaurants and hawkers are so empty on Monday in Singapore. Even I think there are less people on the street in CBD area. I'm wondering if many companies in Singapore started to apply 4 working day system! (Of course not).

We discussed a bit in the office why it happens but I'm also wondering if there is the similar phenomena in Japan. According to ASMARQ (2022), 83% of people who have remote working rule in their company can decide which day to work from home. Most people can choose the day by themselves. No, there are 17% who can not. Does it mean that company decide which day to work from home. Well, not surprising actually.

By the way, the right chart shows which day actually people work from home (Red) and which day they "want" to work from home (Yellow). I see, I see. It seems everybody wants to work from home on Monday and Friday… I can not agree more Lol. It is like "you want longer weekend" type of desire. Also actual work from day is on Wednesday. Oh. Maybe it makes people feel good to have a commutation break in the middle of the week? Or maybe Japanese people feel a bit embarrassed to claim that they want to work from home on Monday or Friday? I can guess that from Japanese characteristics that they want to be seen as not a lazy person…. Hahahaha.
