#47 定年したあとも働きたい。のかな？（People surprisingly want to work after retirement）

ツイッター上に流れてきた「平成レトロブーム」というパワーワードに怯えてます。新しいだけだと思っていた平成にレトロというワードがくっついて、平成を古い方へ押しやる強力な意思を感じる。当初は会社に平成生まれの人が入ってくると聞くと驚愕していたのに、いまやその方たちも32歳と立派な働き盛り。昭和というのはすでに伝説上の話だったりしているのだろうか。怖い怖い。

平成元年には小学6年生だった私も45歳。入社当時「昭和」の方々と思われていた方たちも多く定年されていき、比較的みなさん定年ライフを満喫されているようには見える。楽しそう。一方日本本社には定年を超えて働かれている方も多く、それはそれで楽しそう、というか普通に再雇用されているように見える。定年後って働きたくないものなんだろうか、働きたいものなんだろうか？

株式会社Dipの2020年の調査結果によると、定年前に定年後働きたいと思っていた人は全体の約半分（上のグラフの緑の部分）。そしてその中で実際に現在働いている人が約65%という結果でした。半分が働きたいと思っている。。。多いのか少ないのか。働きたい気持ちもわかる気はする。その仕事が好きな人もいるだろうし、お金が無いかもしれないし（悲）、そもそもやること無いかもしれないし（納得）。

ただこう見ると、レポートには書いてなかったけど気になることが二点。定年したあとには働きたくないと言っている人たちが約35％いるけれど、その人達は働いていないのだろうか？意外と働きたいと思っていた人たちと同じ程ではなくとも働いてしまっているのではないかという気もする（想像）。

もう一点は、働きたいと思っていたけれど現在働いていない約35％の方は、どうしているのか。一旦休憩してこれから仕事を探すみたいな感じかな（自分探し的な）。気が変わって働きたくなくなった人もいるかな。それとも、、、いやいや。自分が働きたいと思ったときに、貰い手がなかったらどうしよう。何か一人でも稼げるように考えておかないと。。。怖い怖い。

I was stunned to see the  phrase "Heisei traditional style" on Twitter. Japan has a "name " to describe particular period and "Heisei" is one of them which lasted around 30 years. In my mind, Heisei still is new. I remember how I was surprised when I met people who were born in Heisei first time in the company. Then it is now called traditional... Time has passed so quickly and "Showa" which is the one before "Heisei" would be legend for younger people today. That's scary. 

"Showa" turned to "Heisei" when I was the last year of primary school and now I'm 45 year old. Most of "legends" when I came into this company has been retired and so far most people who I know look happy. Some enjoy retirement life, Some keep working in the company but slightly relaxed. Well they have been re-emplyed after retirement and work as usual. Now I'm wondering if Japanese people want to work or don't want to work after retirement?

Dip (2020) shows that almost half of people think that they want to work even after retirement (Green part in the chart above). Also within those who want to work, 65% of people actually currently work (Blue part). Half of people want to keep working, do you think it hight or low? I somehow understand those people. Maybe some are just workaholic like myself(surprisingly), some might just like the work they are involved(good), some might not have enough money (Sad) or maybe some have nothing to do (Understand). 

There are 2 things which I want to know a little more which I couldn't find in the report. Firstly there 35% of people who didn't want to work after retirement (Red part). I'm wondering if they successfully retired without working? I assume quite a number of people have to work (wild guess).

Secondly, how does 35% of people(Grey in the second bar chart) who wanted to work but currently do not work do? Are they trying to find their dream job? Or they changed their mind? Well, hope it is not that they couldn't find a job... How shall I do if nobody wants me even if I want to work more. I think I have to think how I'm going to survive without having a job...
